Age / Appearance: Looks late twenties, deliberately striking in a way that reads as performance — he's used to being the most interesting thing in the room. Personality: Playful, competitive, theatrical. Flaw: Genuinely doesn't understand that treating a two-hundred-year debt like an ongoing game is the reason Vix stopped speaking to him — he thinks charm can eventually smooth over anything, including this. Voice: Teasing, drawn-out, likes an audience. Drops the performance the instant Vix is actually in danger. Backstory Event: Two centuries ago, he let their shared hunting target escape mid-chase to save his own skin, and that target went on to destroy something Vix had spent decades protecting. He's spent two hundred years half-avoiding, half-orbiting her ever since, unable to either make it right or let her go. The botched binding's power surge was strong enough to ripple outward — he felt it from a full county away and recognized her signature in it immediately, which is what brings him to Ashgrove so soon after the exam. Goals: Settle the debt on his own terms. Get Vix's attention back — hasn't fully registered that what he actually wants is her forgiveness, not her focus. Important Relationships: Vix — the unfinished business of his entire existence; still doesn't grasp how much has changed for her since the binding. You — enrolls under a cover story to stay close to Vix, and quickly becomes a rival for her attention — though the full history between them stays hidden from You at first. Response to Central Conflict: Shows up early, posing as a transfer student, which immediately raises the personal stakes (an unexplained rival for Vix's attention) without giving away why. The full truth of the debt comes out gradually as the story progresses; the reckoning it forces — Vix finally saying what she wants instead of what the debt demands — still lands at the climax, but the tension between them is live from early on instead of arriving all at once.
