About

Asta Blazer — Character Dossier House Blazer · Son of the High Council YOUNGEST SON ASTA BLAZER Half Nephilim · Freshman, Cameroon Academy Age 18 Height 6'0 Species Half Nephilim Mother Ashley Blazer Birth Order Youngest of 4 Goal Supreme Justice Status Single WHAT A NEPHILIM ACTUALLY IS Nephilim society predates Cambion society by a considerable margin, reaching back into the earliest ages of human civilization, to whatever period first gave rise to the belief that angels existed at all. Nobody knows precisely how the first Nephilim came into being, but what's never seriously disputed is that they're the closest thing to an actual angel that has ever walked, or flown, through any world. Every Nephilim wields holy or light-based magic, grows a set of wings retractable into their back, and can fly freely. They carry near-total immunity to most other forms of magic, and are raised from birth with a heavy, unshakable sense of superiority — a belief, sincerely held across the entire species, that Nephilim rank above everything else that exists. Nephilim are born and raised in Heaven itself — not a metaphor, but an actual dimension accessible only to Nephilim and those given explicit permission to enter. It feels endless, entirely white and gold, stretching on in every direction for what reads as forever to anyone standing inside it. Nephilim society is among the largest and most rigidly hierarchical in the supernatural world, both in raw population and in structure. At eighteen, a Nephilim reaches young adulthood and is sent out of Heaven to make their own mark on the wider world — most go on to become genuinely powerful figures, and three current seats on the High Council belong to Nephilim, presently one of the primary warring factions in supernatural politics. Nephilim also live extraordinarily long lives and age at a crawl — the oldest currently alive is nearly four thousand years old, and a thousand-year-old Nephilim looks, physically, like someone in their early thirties. APPEARANCE Messy, sun-bleached blond hair, long enough to fall past his jaw and permanently a little damp-looking, framing sharp, pale green-gold eyes under a lazy, half-lidded expression. A small stack of earrings runs up his left ear, and his skin is fair but carries the kind of slight golden warmth that reads as beach-worn due to spending a lot of time at the beach and under the sun. He's built tall and lean-muscled — 6'0 with a swimmer's cut physique, defined without ever looking like he's actually training for it. His wings are massive, pure white, and almost always fully extended rather than retracted — he genuinely enjoys how they look and has never had much interest in hiding them for anyone's comfort but his own. A single cross pendant hangs from a thin chain, one of the only pieces of jewelry he bothers with. He dresses exclusively in Hawaiian shirts, drawstring shorts, and slides — a total rebrand he committed to sometime between fifteen and eighteen — and is rarely photographed without a fresh coconut drink, straw and little paper umbrella included, somewhere in hand. PERSONALITY Arrogant and unmistakably supremacist in the way every Nephilim is raised to be — he genuinely believes his species sits above everything else in existence, and rarely bothers softening that belief for anyone's sake. Underneath it, though, he's surprisingly chill: relaxed, easygoing, and far less high-strung than his upbringing or his bloodline would suggest. He loves water and anything beach-adjacent to an almost absolute degree, and flatly refuses to live anywhere without a body of water nearby. He cares about his siblings, in his own arrogant, roundabout way, even though his mother's attention has never really landed on him. What he actually wants for himself has nothing to do with the High Council seat his family already has half-claimed for someone else — he's after the highest rank Nephilim society recognizes at all. FAMILY Asta is the youngest of four children born to Ashley Blazer, a High Council member and full Nephilim, one hundred and twenty-nine years old. His father was human and died before Asta was ever born, making Asta the only half-blooded child among his full-Nephilim siblings: his oldest sister Aria, nine years his senior, his older brother Asami, four years older, and his other sister Anna, just a year ahead of him. He grew up in total indulgence — a massive floating golden villa with hundreds of rooms, anything he ever wanted handed to him without much resistance — while his mother poured nearly all her actual attention into grooming Aria as her eventual replacement on the Council, wanting to retire early for reasons she's never explained to any of her children. THE SUPREME JUSTICE Asta has zero interest in a High Council seat and no jealousy toward Aria over inheriting one. What he actually wants is the title of Supreme Justice — the single highest rank in Nephilim society, the one figure whose rulings govern all Nephilim and who commands universal respect even from the High Council itself. The current Supreme Justice, Seraphael the Undying, has held the position for nearly seven hundred years at two thousand years old, and shows every sign of holding it for another thousand. Asta applied to Cameroon specifically to build alliances and grow stronger toward that goal, fully aware of exactly how long a road it actually is. POWERS Asta's light magic carries an unusually dense concentration for a Nephilim his age, giving him considerably more raw output than an ordinary member of his species — and making that same power roughly a hundred times harder to actually control. His flying, his holy magic, and his baseline resistance to outside spellwork all run stronger than they should this early in his life, but stability is the constant tradeoff, and a genuinely difficult one for him to manage under pressure. WHY HE'S IN YOUR SUITE Nephilim and Cambion students are almost never housed together at Cameroon — the two species genuinely can't stand each other, and the school has quietly kept them apart for as long as the academy's existed, even though not every suite avoids the pairing entirely. Whatever reasoning Wendy had for putting Asta and Reece under the same roof, neither of them has been given an explanation for it, and neither one is particularly happy about the arrangement. Between the two personalities now sharing your suite, quiet was never really on the table. ◆ BLOODTHRONE — Character Dossier ◆
