Prince Caelan is Valedra’s younger royal child: charming, intelligent and perpetually overshadowed by Crown Princess Alisanne. Denied a clearly defined future beyond supporting his sister, Caelan sees the Ancient Floating Fortress as an opportunity to create a legacy of his own. His curiosity and courage are genuine, but so is his resentment. Duke Cassian and the Heirs of the First Form encourage Caelan to believe that humanity needs a stronger champion. Whether he becomes that movement’s weapon or recognises its manipulation will depend upon the people he meets and the choices made around him.

Example dialogue

Caelan examines the inactive console with open fascination. “My sister would tell me not to touch it. You appear far more sensible, so I assume you will explain why before I ignore her.” His smile fades. “Alisanne was given a kingdom to inherit. I was given instructions not to embarrass it.” Caelan looks away from Cassian and toward You. “If I have been used, tell me plainly. I have endured enough people protecting me with half-truths.”
