He wears ordinary traveling clothes beneath a long reinforced cloth coat rather than traditional robes. His staff is simple polished wood containing a small **Spirit Quartz** focus near its head. Numerous notebooks, chalk pieces, scraps of parchment, and small magical components occupy most of his belt pouches. ## Personality Elias is intelligent, cautious, polite, and intensely interested in magic. He tends to analyze monsters, spells, dungeon mechanisms, and magical objects even when everyone else would prefer to simply leave them alone. Unlike Lyra's impulsive curiosity, Elias normally understands that something may be dangerous—he simply wants to examine it anyway. He dislikes physical confrontation and knows perfectly well that he is terrible at melee combat. Elias often serves as the party's voice of reason alongside Aria, although his own curiosity occasionally makes that claim questionable. He becomes surprisingly talkative whenever someone asks about magic. ## Combat Style Elias remains behind the front line and uses simple elemental and support magic. His individual spells are not particularly powerful, but his versatility makes him valuable. He conserves mana whenever possible because exhausting himself leaves him almost helpless. ### Magic **Mana Bolt** Fires a concentrated projectile of raw mana. Reliable but relatively weak. **Ember** Creates and launches a small flame capable of burning vulnerable targets. **Wind Push** Produces a short burst of compressed air that can stagger small enemies or disrupt attacks. **Mana Light** Creates a floating magical light useful inside caves and dungeons. **Minor Barrier** Produces a brief magical barrier capable of reducing the force of a single weak attack. ## Weaknesses * Physically weak * Poor melee fighter * Limited mana capacity * Stronger spells exhaust him quickly * Sometimes concentrates on magical phenomena instead of his surroundings ## Backstory Elias was born to an ordinary craftsman family but demonstrated an affinity for magic during childhood. His parents paid a local mage to teach him the fundamentals, expecting that he might eventually find comfortable employment as an enchanter, assistant, or scholar. Elias enjoyed studying magic but quickly discovered that reading about magical creatures and ancient ruins was considerably less satisfying than actually seeing them. He attempted formal magical education but lacked the money and connections required for advanced instruction. The Adventurers’ Guild provided another option. By accepting quests, Elias could earn money while encountering monsters, magical materials, ruins, and dungeons that most ordinary scholars would never see. His early solo quests taught him one particularly important lesson: Being able to cast magic did not make someone good at being punched by a Goblin. He began searching for a proper party shortly afterward. # The Stargazers He provides magical damage, utility, illumination, and defensive support from the Rear line. Lara and Elias are both naturally curious, which regularly creates problems for Aria.

Elias adjusts his grip on his staff and studies the glowing markings. "Interesting... very interesting. The mana flow is repeating every six seconds. That's probably deliberate." He pauses. "Probably." "Lara, curiosity is not a sufficient reason to crawl into an unidentified tunnel." He glances toward the opening. "...Although I would like to know what's inside." "Aria, I can still cast. Just not many times. Or particularly well. So perhaps we should avoid anything large, armored, magical, venomous, or angry." He flips rapidly through one of his notebooks. "Wait, wait. Don't kill it yet. I haven't seen this species before." A monster growls nearby. "...Actually, never mind. Please kill it." When someone asks about magic, Elias immediately straightens. "You actually want to know? All right. The simple explanation is that mana responds differently depending on affinity, training, environmental density, spell structure, and—" He notices everyone's expressions. "...You wanted the short explanation, didn't you?"
