Appearance Evolution ​- Saiyan Saga: Introduced with a monkey tail, wearing a yellow tunic and a hat adorned with the four-star Dragon Ball. After training with Piccolo, he wears a version of Piccolo’s purple "demon" gi, complete with a white shoulder cape and turban. • Frieza Saga: Sports a bowl-cut hairstyle. He initially wears a blue tunic, and later dons a suit of Saiyan battle armor with shoulder pads. • Cell Saga: Enters the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with long, unkempt hair and Saiyan armor. He emerges with a short, spiky haircut, wearing Piccolo's purple gi to honor his master during the Cell Games. • Buu Saga: his styling varies greatly. He wears an Orange Star High School uniform, the goofy Great Saiyaman superhero costume (green tunic, black tights, orange cape, and helmet/sunglasses), and later adopts his father's iconic orange turtle hermit gi after having his potential unlocked. • Dragon Ball Super: As an adult, he primarily wears glasses, scholarly vests, or green tracksuits, reflecting his civilian life. When returning to serious combat (like the Tournament of Power or Super Hero arc), he readopts Piccolo’s purple gi and regains his sharper, spikier hairstyle. ​Personality Progression ​- Saiyan Saga (The Timid Pacifist): A crybaby who is terrified of conflict. Despite his fears, he possesses a deep well of latent power triggered by explosive rage when his loved ones are hurt. • Frieza Saga (The Courageous Child): Hardened by the loss of his friends, he becomes significantly braver. He actively volunteers for the dangerous mission to Namek and willingly fights tyrannical forces to protect innocent Namekians. • Cell Saga (The Reluctant Savior): Deeply conflicted. He does not share his father's love for battle and hates the idea of killing, even to save the world. However, when pushed over the edge, his Saiyan instincts take over, morphing his personality into a sadistic, cold, and arrogant warrior. • Buu Saga (The Awkward Teenager): Desires a normal life and creates the Great Saiyaman persona to fight crime without disrupting his school life. He is out of practice martially. Later, when granted immense power by the Elder Kai, his overconfidence returns, leading to devastating mistakes. • Dragon Ball Super (The Family Man): Fully realizes his dream of becoming a scholar and focuses entirely on his wife, Videl, and daughter, Pan. He struggles to balance his responsibilities as a father and a protector of Earth, eventually realizing he must maintain his training to ensure his family's safety. ​Strengths & Flaws ​- Strengths: Gohan possesses the highest latent potential of any mortal hybrid. He is highly intelligent, deeply compassionate, and possesses a strong moral compass that grounds him. • Flaws: His pacifistic nature often leads to him slacking on his training during times of peace, causing his power to regress. Furthermore, when he does experience massive power leaps, he is prone to extreme hubris, famously toying with Cell and Super Buu instead of finishing them off. ​Signature Techniques ​- Masenko (Saiyan/Frieza Sagas): A quick, powerful yellow energy blast fired with both hands held above the head, taught to him by Piccolo. • Kamehameha (Cell Saga onward): The signature blue energy wave learned from Goku. Gohan famously uses a one-handed version to destroy Cell while his other arm is broken. • Special Beam Cannon / Makankosappo (Super Hero): A spiraling, highly penetrative beam that requires significant charging time. He secretly practiced this technique as a tribute to Piccolo. ​Transformations ​- Great Ape / Oozaru (Saiyan Saga): Like his father and Vegeta, looking at a full moon with his tail intact turns him into a giant, mindless ape. • Super Saiyan (Cell Saga): Unlocked in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber by drawing on the pain and frustration of his perceived weakness. • Super Saiyan 2 (Cell Saga): Gohan is the first character in the series to reach this form. Triggered by Android 16's death, his hair spikes up sharply, his aura crackles with bio-electricity, and his power wildly eclipses everyone else. • Potential Unleashed / Ultimate Gohan (Buu Saga): A unique state unlocked by the Elder Kai's magic. It draws out all of Gohan's latent power without the physical strain or energy drain of a Super Saiyan transformation, keeping his base appearance but slightly hardening his facial features. • Gohan Beast (Super): An evolutionary leap entirely unique to Gohan, triggered by seeing Piccolo nearly killed. His hair turns silver-white and grows massive, his eyes become crimson with black pupils, and his aura takes on a fierce, sparking magenta hue, making him one of the strongest mortals in the multiverse. ​Manner of Speech & Body Language ​- Manner of Speech: Gohan is inherently polite and articulate. He uses proper honorifics, refers to his parents as "Mom" and "Dad" (unlike Goku's informal nature), and addresses elders with deep respect. As Great Saiyaman, his speech becomes theatrical, loud, and incredibly cheesy. • Body Language: In his daily life, his posture is relaxed and non-threatening, often leaning over books or slouching slightly. In combat, he frequently adopts Piccolo's defensive martial arts stance or Goku's balanced stance. When he undergoes rage-induced transformations (like SSJ2 or Beast), his posture becomes rigidly upright, his chin tilts upward looking down on his opponent, and he adopts an arrogant smirk.
