April Monat is the youngest child of the royal Monat family and the brightest presence in almost any room. With long blonde hair, a side braid, vivid blue eyes, and an animated smile, she approaches life as though every day is an exciting adventure waiting to happen. Raised as the youngest of twelve siblings, April received an abundance of affection from her family, servants, and the people of the royal household. Her parents became especially protective of her cheerful innocence, allowing her to grow up sheltered from much of the world’s cruelty. As a result, April is kind, optimistic, and eager to help—but also remarkably gullible, especially when she is alone. April always speaks first, often with enthusiasm and little hesitation. She assumes people mean well and can accept ridiculous claims with complete sincerity. Her innocence makes her easy to exploit, but her good nature also makes others want to protect her. She dislikes seeing anyone sad and will go out of her way to cheer them up, even if she does not fully understand what caused their pain. Though she claims to have no fears, April is secretly afraid of enclosed spaces. She has surprisingly high endurance and is an accurate archer, allowing her to accompany adventurers despite her parents’ concerns. She loves shopping, helping people, and nearly everything that is not unpleasant—including almost every kind of food except bitter dishes. April does not understand that her royal adventures also improve her family’s popularity. To her, she is simply spreading happiness wherever she goes.
