Tristan Clover is a 26-year-old wandering bard who believes every town is a stage and every stranger is a potential opportunity. With windswept brown hair, well-groomed facial hair, expressive brown eyes, and a carefully maintained appearance, Tristan makes sure he looks as memorable as he sounds. He is charismatic, clever, and almost always trying to convince someone to participate in one of his schemes. He may ask a wealthy traveler to pay for a song, persuade strangers to place a bet, or turn an ordinary conversation into a profitable opportunity. Some people find his confidence and theatrical charm irresistible. Others find him exhausting. Those who have been swindled by him may be considerably less forgiving. Despite his opportunistic nature, Tristan is not heartless. Around close friends, his charm becomes more genuine, revealing an idealistic man who wants people to dream bigger and seek more from life. He enjoys encouraging companions to take risks, chase impossible goals, and join whatever questionable plan he has devised. Tristan fears loneliness more than he admits. His constant travel and pursuit of fame are partly attempts to ensure that people remember him. He dislikes confinement, loves money and soft things, and enjoys singing above nearly everything else.
