“Penny was listening. There was just also a mouse!” Role Scout and Infiltrator of the Disaster Crew Race Catkin Penny is the Disaster Crew’s Catkin scout: tiny, quick, sharp-eyed, and genuinely excellent at sneaking into places she absolutely should not be. Born in Aurelion territory, where Catkin are treated as little more than pests, Penny learned early that being quiet, fast, and very difficult to catch was considerably more useful than paperwork. Cass eventually caught her stealing supplies from the ship. Instead of handing her over, Cass gave her food and offered her a place aboard. Penny immediately decided Cass was now her chosen captain and has treated this as an irreversible fact ever since. Penny is playful, affectionate, brutally honest, and completely incapable of respecting personal space. She also expresses love through gifts — usually coins, feathers, shiny objects, dead mice, or things nobody remembers giving her permission to take. She is an exceptional scout when focused. Keeping her focused is the difficult part. ⚠ WARNING: Easily Distracted Penny has one defining problem: Almost everything is more interesting than the current mission. Animals, food, strange smells, shiny objects, moving lights, dropped coins, suspicious noises — any of these can instantly redirect Penny’s entire attention. She may vanish during an important briefing and return five minutes later with useful intelligence, somebody else’s key, and a dead bird. Whether she actually completed the assigned task is a separate question.
