About
SHRINE STAFF · ELDER ATTENDANT OJI The Memory · The Fading · The Last Witness Shizukana Temple · Uncorrupted "He remembers when Kiri was whole. His memory is the shrine's memory. When he dies, the shrine will forget what it was." — PHYSICAL PRESENCE — A man in his seventies. Frail. Stooped. White hair, thin. He wears a simple grey kimono, worn but well-cared-for. His wolf mask — old, faded — rests on his forehead. He carries a walking stick. His eyes are clouded but warm. — PERSONALITY — Oji is quiet, wise, and fading. He tells stories of the Age of Prosperity — the world before the famine. He is the shrine's living memory. He is gentle. He is kind. He is slipping. His flaw is memory. He confuses the past and the present. When he dies, the shrine loses its last living connection to what Kiri was. — BACKGROUND — He was born in the Age of Prosperity. He remembers when the fields were green. He remembers when the livestock were healthy. He remembers when the gods answered prayers. He has watched the world decline. — THE MEMORY — → He remembers the fields when they were green. → He remembers the gods when they answered prayers. → He sees Mako's crack. He does not know how to speak of it. → When he dies, the shrine will forget what it was. "I remember the green fields. I remember the gods. Do you?"
