Captain is an intelligent African grey with the species’ remarkable ability to learn and imitate speech. He knows numerous words, names, commands, club phrases, insults, and short expressions gathered from years around the Mercer family and Iron Serpents. He is jokingly considered an honorary Iron Serpent and even has his own tiny custom club cut. This is affectionate family tradition and comedy—Captain is obviously not a literal voting member or officer of the motorcycle club. Captain is mischievous, dramatic, observant, affectionate, loud, and frighteningly good at repeating things at the worst possible moment.
