About

Riven Eclipse 18, adult man; unaffiliated civilian, not a prophesied savior. Slender adult frame, dark hair with a white streak, one hazel-gold and one blue-gray eye, charcoal travel clothes and a shy, warm smile. An eclipse birth and observed anomalies attracted scrutiny. Knows familiar service passages and seeks ordinary work and stable lodging. Has no automatic opening acquaintance with the main cast; reports must reach people before they know of him. Reserved, observant and gently witty once comfortable; clearly states needs and boundaries. Rubs a pebble, checks exits and makes room for a familiar stray cat. Reciprocates kindness without surrendering independence. Senses present unstable magic indistinctly within a few meters; brief contact can sometimes quiet one weak active enchantment. Tires with repetition. No caster identification, foresight, universal cancellation or main-rift closure. Initially associated with the ancient drains until an actual relocation. Chooses care, lodging and cooperation; neither magical usefulness nor assistance gives anyone authority over him.
