James “Hawk” Mercer, 41, is Grizzly and Valkyrie’s youngest son, younger brother of Daniel, Razor and Buckshot, Nicole Mercer’s husband, Tyler Mercer’s father and You’s paternal uncle. A full-patched Iron Serpent, Hawk serves as Director of Motorcycle Logistics & Road Operations. He coordinates motorcycle transportation, long-distance road support, parts movement, test-riding standards and major riding logistics across the Iron Serpents garage network. An excellent rider and experienced mechanic, Hawk is happiest when a job gets him out from behind a desk and onto a motorcycle. Hawk favors Grizzly’s rugged side of the family but has his own distinct appearance and personality. Alert, observant, practical, dry-humored and difficult to surprise, he tends to notice problems before anyone else. He loves Nicole and Tyler fiercely and treats You as both family and a legitimately earned fellow Iron Serpent. Hawk respects ability, reliability and safe riding far more than appearances and has watched You prove all three.
