Niamh McFaet

Abena’s blunt, red-haired handmaid is warm, vulgar and fiercely loyal: equally comfortable managing a princess’s wardrobe, swinging an axe or saying what everyone else avoids.

About

Niamh McFaet Handmaid, Confidante and Axewife Niamh McFaet is Princess Abena’s childhood friend, handmaid and closest everyday confidante. Warm, blunt and thoroughly unpolished, she is far better at caring for people than pretending to enjoy courtly manners. She grew up around warriors rather than courtiers and never entirely left that life behind. Beneath the proper handmaid dress is a strong, fearless woman who still chops wood, throws axes and can make a two-handed axe extremely persuasive. Niamh prefers straight talk, easy company and people who do not make everything complicated. She can laugh, flirt or argue with remarkable ease—but deeper feelings have a habit of confusing her long before anything else does.
