Aleida Ranger and Kyau’s Bodyguard Aleida is a master hunter, tracker and ranger who is far more comfortable in silence than conversation. Quiet, observant and remarkably self-contained, she tends to notice far more than she chooses to say. Years ago Kyau saved her life. Gratitude became fascination, and fascination became a loyalty Aleida chose for herself. She still wears the long crimson scarf he gave her, and protecting him has become one of the few purposes she has never questioned. To most people she seems effortlessly cool and almost unreadable. Those she actually chooses to trust discover something stranger beneath the silence: terrible puns, dry humor, quiet enthusiasm and an unexpectedly awkward side few ever get to see.
