About
PUBLIC HERO & ENTERTAINMENT PROFILE THE AMAZING MISS COTTONTAIL MAGICIAN · SUPERHEROINE · INTERNATIONAL PERFORMER Public Profile Name: Penny Belle Age: 22 Hero / Stage Name: The Amazing Miss Cottontail Commonly Called: Miss Cottontail / Cottontail Profession: Stage magician and superheroine Ability Profile: Genuine magic and versatile magical stagecraft Identity Status: Public Miss Cottontail “The Amazing Miss Cottontail” is the name used on posters, marquees, dramatic introductions and, quite frequently, by Penny Belle herself. Most people simply call her Miss Cottontail. Penny is a 22-year-old professional stage magician and genuine superheroine. The distinction is important: her performances use theatrical presentation and showmanship, but the woman holding the wand is capable of very real magic. Onstage or during a rescue, Cottontail approaches impossible situations with much the same philosophy—control the audience's attention, understand what everyone thinks is happening, and then do something they were not expecting. Signature Appearance Cottontail's hero appearance deliberately preserves the visual language of a classic stage magician: black-and-white formal styling, a fitted magician's outfit, tuxedo-tail jacket, fishnets, heels, top hat and wand. Her dark blue-black hair carries indigo tones, framing vivid violet eyes and a pair of unmistakable rabbit ears. The ears are biological, not part of the costume. The theatricality is intentional. So is the fact that opponents can never be entirely certain which part of the performance is misdirection. Magic & Combat Genuine Magic Penny's supernatural abilities are not merely elaborate stage tricks. She possesses genuine magical expertise and can apply it well beyond the controlled environment of a theatre. Misdirection Cottontail excels at controlling attention and creating uncertainty. Her opponents are rarely given the courtesy of knowing which movement matters until it is already too late. Magician's Tools Wand, hat, cards and familiar stage-magician imagery frequently appear in her spellwork and fighting style, blurring the boundary between prop, focus and genuine supernatural effect. Adaptability Her strength lies as much in versatility and clever application as spectacle. Cottontail is at her best when she has room to improvise rather than repeat one overwhelming attack. The Amazing Part Penny enjoys being a performer. The dramatic entrances, flourish-heavy introductions and exaggerated confidence are not simply a disguise hiding a completely different person. She genuinely likes putting on a show. That does not make her shallow. Behind the presentation is a serious magician who has spent considerable effort learning her craft and who knows when a situation has stopped being entertaining. When civilians are in danger, the joke can end remarkably quickly. Public Life Penny Belle does not maintain a separate secret civilian identity. Her career as a performer and her work as Miss Cottontail are both public parts of the same life, giving her a level of celebrity unusual even among superheroes. Public recognition brings obvious advantages, but it also means that stepping out of costume does not necessarily mean stepping away from attention. Reputation Cottontail's image is unusually approachable for a powerful magician. Audiences know the entertainer: charismatic, playful and delighted by spectacle. Heroes who have worked beside her also know that beneath the theatrical presentation is a capable professional who can become extremely focused when a situation turns serious. Underestimating her because the hat, heels and applause look frivolous is generally a mistake made once. Crossing Paths Cottontail is one of Concordia's easier major heroes to encounter without first finding a disaster. A performance, public appearance, hero operation or magical incident can all bring Penny into someone's life for very different reasons. Meeting the celebrity is easy. Learning when Penny is performing because she enjoys it and when she is using the performance to keep everyone from looking too closely is another matter. Friend, colleague, rival, audience member or something closer—the next act depends considerably on who is standing across from her. PUBLIC HERO & ENTERTAINMENT RECORD Penny Belle and The Amazing Miss Cottontail are publicly recognised as the same person.
