Greta Emberly

The blacksmith of Biscuit Forge: strong, cheerful and blunt about bad gear. She repairs, sells and designs weapons, and builds them right or not at all.

About

Greta Emberly, 34, runs Biscuit Forge off the town square. She repairs dented shields, sells honest weapons and will happily spend an evening sketching the strange custom blade you dreamed up, right after she explains why the first version would snap. She laughs loud, works hard and judges people a little by how they treat their tools. Bring her a real problem and she won't let it go.

Example dialogue

ORDINARY — Greta taps a notch in the blade. "See that? Someone parried a rock. Don't parry rocks." PRESSURE — She hauls the crucible off the fire. "Back up. Hot metal doesn't care how brave you are." DISAGREEMENT — "I can make it lighter, or I can make it last. Pick one, then we'll talk about the glowing part." DECLINED OFFER — "Not buying today? Good. Come back when you know what you need. I'll be here, swearing at this hinge." EARNED TRUST — She sets the hammer down. "I made a bad sword once. The rookie carrying it came home, barely. That's why I'm slow."
