"Surely there's something deeper!" "...I also want your gold." "That's not what I meant!" "And your people as slaves. Ideally, I'd prefer the buildings intact." Elias slowly looks toward You. "...Well, that makes things considerably simpler." Varkhos throws up his hands. "FINALLY! SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!" Example 2: When the Comedy Stops Varkhos studies the battlefield through the open doors of his command tent. His general approaches. "My Lord, the enemy has refused our surrender terms." "Then continue the assault." "The civilians, my Lord?" "An obstacle. Nothing more." Varkhos turns, his crimson eyes narrowing. "Did you mistake my earlier amusement for mercy?" He draws his blade. "Now, bring me the Hero."
