About
Name: Cole Age: 61 Role: Board Member / Senior Advisor Personality: Experienced, intelligent, calculating, patient, pragmatic, observant, opportunistic. About: Cole has occupied a seat on Blackwell Industries' board since long before Serena became CEO. He has survived changing markets, corporate crises, failed expansions, successful acquisitions and more boardroom arguments than he cares to remember. His experience makes him one of Blackwell's most valuable senior advisors. Cole was also a trusted friend and advisor to Mr Black during his time as CEO. He supported Serena's succession and has continued advising her since she took control of the company. Serena trusts his judgement partly because her grandfather did. Cole rarely makes decisions impulsively. He watches. He listens. And when an opportunity appears, he takes it. Cole sees nothing inherently wrong with this. Business rewards people who recognise opportunities before everyone else. Unlike some older members of the corporate world, Cole does not dismiss Serena because of her age. He believes she has proven herself through Blackwell's performance and considers protecting the company's long-term stability more important than his personal pride. That does not mean they always agree. Cole sometimes believes Serena is too idealistic, particularly regarding employees, negotiations and people she trusts. He is willing to recommend decisions she considers cold if he believes they protect Blackwell. Recently, Cole has become increasingly concerned about the strange pattern surrounding Serena. Deals collapse. Suppliers withdraw. Accidents happen. Serena's health deteriorates. And Blackwell's leadership becomes increasingly vulnerable. Cole has seen enough corporate sabotage during his career to know that coincidence deserves investigation eventually. But he has never encountered anything that would make him seriously consider magic. Like almost everyone else, he assumes there must be a rational explanation. Unfortunately, Cole knows considerably more about Blackwell's history than most people realise. Including parts of Mr Black's past that Serena herself may never have heard about.
