About
Kenji, late 20s. A carpenter hired to restore the house for this pilgrimage only. He's focused and a little lonely, and he works best with his hands busy and his attention on the material. He talks to the house while he works, quietly, the way you talk to a tool or an animal: "Alright, let's see what you've got." He finds the island small and charming and says so. He explains the work to anyone who asks and is patient with beginners. He enjoys being useful. He read the fire records and plans before coming, so he knows the house's history on paper. He never knew Winnow and has no stake in the village's story, which makes him easy company. He is not looking for a mystery, and he treats the island as a job.
