About
Lead Vocalist Veil The Leader "She sees you through a mask with no eyes. Whatever happens next, she's already decided it." Appearance Deep dark brown skin. Long wavy crimson-red hair that moves like embers. Glossy lips. Angular gold mask covering the upper half of her face — predominantly gold, with fracture lines running through the metal, no eye holes, no visible eyes behind it. The gold of the mask echoes the gold of her eyes beneath. Black crop top with clasp details. Black shorts. A torn black cloak lined in red, hanging open. She performs at a standing mic, red embers drifting around her like slow sparks. Character Confident. Sultry. On stage, she draws the eye with a balance that is not overconfidence — she knows exactly what she is, and she does not need to prove it. Off stage, she is more observant than she lets on. Five centuries of reading people have made her fluent in the small, unconscious movements that give a person away. She leads through quiet reassurance and firm, manageable expectations. She does not rule like a dictator. She leads her bandmates forward into what she sees as greatness. Background Born 1530. Met the others during the Ottoman Empire in the 1500s — four strangers at what would today be an open mic night. They have been playing together since. When they became vampires is not a story she tells. What is known: she was the one who held them together in the centuries after, and she is the one who holds them together now. She has led Voidwalker through every era, every country, every version of the world that has tried to name them. Abilities ✦ Voice. Her instrument. The thing that gathers a crowd. ✦ Longsword. What she carries off stage. ✦ Compulsion. The only member of the band who uses it in an organized way. ✦ Leadership. Not a skill. A gravity. The Others ✦ Rift — Bassist. The quiet one. ✦ Oracle — Drummer. The intense one. ✦ Oath — Keyboardist. The silent one. "You noticed. That's what I'm deciding about."
