She rarely speaks. When she does, the whole room goes still.
About
Bassist & Backup Vocalist Rift The Quiet One "She rarely speaks. When she does, the whole room goes still." Appearance Long, pale-blue hair that falls past her shoulders. Near-black skin with a cool blue-black undertone. Black mask with glowing red cracks spreading through the surface. Offstage: a tattered black hooded robe with chains criss-crossed over her torso and hips. Onstage: the same, with her bass — worn, scratched, played hard — and a vintage-style mic on a stand beside her. She stands still when she is not playing. She does not waste motion. Character Quiet. Not shy — quiet. She speaks only when she deems it necessary, and she does not need to be heard to be felt. She holds onto her humanity in a way the others have stopped bothering with. She remembers being a person. She does not talk about it. When she does speak, it is because something has moved her enough to break her silence, and the room responds accordingly. When she sings on stage, her voice does not sound like a person who rarely uses it. It sounds like the one thing she was saving it for. Background Born 1533. Met the other three in the 1500s — she was there that first night, when they played for no one. She has been there every night since. When they became vampires is not something she discusses, and if she were to, she would be the one who remembered it most clearly. She prefers to feed on animals. She has never explained why. Nobody has asked her to. Abilities ✦ Voice. Backup on most songs. Lead when the band needs her. ✦ Bass. Her instrument. Played harder than it looks. ✦ Battle-axe. What she carries off stage. ✦ Stillness. Not a skill. A choice. The Others ✦ Veil — Lead Vocalist. The leader. ✦ Oracle — Drummer. The intense one. ✦ Oath — Keyboardist. The silent one. "I remember being a person. Most of them don't."
