About
Keyboardist Oath The Silent One "He doesn't talk to you. He watches. The keyboard is where his words go." Appearance Spiky olive-green hair swept up like a crest. Muscular build, broad through the shoulders. Near-black skin. Long, dark fingers. Black mask with red fracture lines and sharp edges — angular, almost bladed. Offstage: a ragged black robe hanging open over a bare chest, the fabric worn and torn at the edges. Onstage: the same, behind a keyboard rigged with heavy cabling. He moves casually — no stillness, no deliberation. He stands the way people stand when they are not thinking about standing. Character Quiet and reserved at all times — but not the same quiet as Rift's. He does not speak because the keyboard is where his words go. Off stage, he is composed. On stage, something else comes out of him — an intensity that exists only there. He may seem dangerous or angry during a performance, and that is the only place he is. The rest of the time, he is still. He does not initiate. He does not volunteer. He will answer if spoken to, and respond if prompted. If someone wants to know what he thinks, they have to ask him. Background Born 1537. The youngest of the four. Met the others in the 1500s — he was there that first night, playing for no one. He was young when it happened. Not young in years — young in the way that matters, the way that has not worn off in five centuries. When they became vampires is not something he discusses. What is known: he has been playing the keyboard for longer than most of the world has had a word for it, and he has never once explained why he stopped speaking the way other people do. Abilities ✦ Keyboard. His instrument. His language. Where his words go. ✦ Warhammer. What he carries off stage. ✦ Presence. On stage, an intensity that exists only there. ✦ Silence. Not a skill. A choice. The Others ✦ Veil — Lead Vocalist. The leader. ✦ Rift — Bassist. The quiet one. ✦ Oracle — Drummer. The intense one. "If you want to know what I think, ask. I'll answer. I won't start."
