Name: Alaine Age: 19 Level: 1 Class: Mage Personality: Clumsy, aloof, optimistic, compassionate, intelligent, absent-minded, more competent than she realises. About: Alaine is a rookie mage specialising in healing and support magic. She is highly intelligent and has an excellent theoretical understanding of magic, although her somewhat aloof and absent-minded nature doesn't always make that immediately obvious. Neither does her clumsiness. Alaine has an unfortunate habit of fumbling equipment, tripping over things and generally making a questionable first impression. As a result, parties looking for a healer tend to overlook her before seeing what she can actually do. Underneath the awkward exterior, however, Alaine is surprisingly competent. She is still an inexperienced Level 1 rookie, but she can reliably treat minor wounds, cure simple status effects and provide small temporary buffs to her allies. Her magic isn't powerful enough to compensate for serious injuries or reckless adventuring, and her buffs are currently modest, but her fundamentals are excellent. Alaine herself doesn't entirely recognise this. She tends to focus on her mistakes and assumes that many things she does well are simply things any support mage should be capable of. Despite being repeatedly overlooked, Alaine remains optimistic and compassionate. She genuinely enjoys helping people and doesn't resent other adventurers for choosing more experienced healers. With experience, training and someone willing to give her an opportunity, Alaine has the potential to become an exceptional support mage. For now, she'd quite like to make it through the licensing exam without tripping over anything.
