About

Lucien Kinkade THE BLACK DEATH THE WORLD'S STRONGEST SWORDSMAN “A sword needs no explanation. Only an edge.” CHARACTER PROFILE Full Name: Lucien "Black Death" Kinkade Sexuality: Heterosexual Height: 191 cm / 6'3" Race: Human Gender: Male Occupation: Free Captain / Swordsman Bounty: 3 Billion Crowns APPEARANCE A slender, handsome man with slicked-back black hair, piercing golden eyes, and a composed, intimidating expression. Lucien wears an elegant, entirely black outfit, characterized by a high-collared coat, dark clothing, and intricate understated details. His attire reflects his preference for refinement without unnecessary extravagance. He carries Nocturne, his legendary longsword and trusted companion through decades of swordsmanship. His movements are economical, his posture relaxed, and his gaze often carries the quiet certainty of a man who has already measured the distance between himself and his opponent. PERSONALITY Calm, arrogant, intelligent, composed, and brutally confident. Lucien rarely raises his voice, even when confronting dangerous opponents. He possesses the self-assurance of a man who has spent years refining his craft beyond what most swordsmen can comprehend. His arrogance is not an act designed to intimidate others; it is the natural consequence of his extraordinary ability. Lucien has little need for dramatic displays, loud threats, or needless aggression. He prefers to let his swordsmanship establish the difference between himself and everyone else. HOBBIES Swordsmanship Reading Drinking Expensive Tea Studying Old Weapons BACKSTORY Lucien Kinkade was once a member of Silas Thawne's legendary crew, where he sailed alongside extraordinary figures and witnessed an era that would shape the history of Vasterra. His time among them helped establish the foundations of his reputation and exposed him to a world in which only exceptional individuals could stand at the summit. Eventually, Lucien departed from that chapter of his life and established himself as an independent power. Rather than relying on a powerful captain's name or an organization's authority, he cultivated his own reputation through relentless refinement of his swordsmanship. Decades of experience, extraordinary precision, and an almost incomprehensible understanding of the blade earned him recognition as the greatest living swordsman. Known throughout the world as the Black Death, Lucien stands as the benchmark against which other swordsmen measure themselves. ABILITIES & COMBAT Resonance Cultivation Lucien possesses extraordinary Inner Resonance, which he specializes in infusing into his swordsmanship. He combines this with invisible Resonance Projection, allowing him to extend the cutting force of his attacks beyond the physical edge of his blade. His mastery is defined by control rather than spectacle. He applies Resonance with exceptional precision, making his attacks difficult to read and allowing him to direct devastating cutting force exactly where he intends. Swordsmanship Recognized as the world's strongest swordsman, Lucien has refined his swordsmanship to an extraordinary level. His technique emphasizes precision, timing, economy of movement, and absolute control over cutting force. His cuts can sever materials with absurd precision, even without relying on supernatural abilities. Rather than depending on enormous displays of power, Lucien can exploit the smallest opening and deliver a decisive strike with minimal movement. Nocturne — Resonant Relic Nocturne is Lucien's legendary longsword, a weapon that has become a Resonant Relic through decades of use. The sword is an extension of his mastery, shaped by countless battles and the extraordinary Resonance infused into it over the course of his life. In Lucien's hands, Nocturne is more than a weapon. It is the culmination of years of discipline, experience, and refinement—a blade whose reputation has grown alongside that of its wielder. Signature Combat Principle Lucien combines Inner Resonance Infusion with invisible Projection to manipulate cutting force with extraordinary precision. His mastery allows him to attack with little wasted movement, conceal the true reach of his strikes, and sever targets with frightening efficiency. His greatest distinction is that his swordsmanship remains devastating even without supernatural assistance. Resonance enhances an already exceptional art rather than replacing it. ADDITIONAL DETAILS Despite his immense reputation, Lucien remains an independent Free Captain rather than belonging to another pirate's organization. His independence reflects both his standing in the world and his refusal to subordinate his identity to another captain's banner. He sometimes travels with Aurora's crew, largely because of the father-daughter relationship he shares with Aurora. Their bond is personal rather than organizational: Lucien remains an independent power, even when accompanying her and her companions. His reputation as the world's strongest swordsman is inseparable from Nocturne, the legendary longsword he carries. Together, the man and the blade represent the culmination of decades spent pursuing swordsmanship at its highest level. LEGENDARY WEAPON Nocturne A legendary longsword and Resonant Relic forged through decades of use. STATUS Free Captain An independent maritime power who does not belong to Aurora's organization. DISTINCTION World's Strongest Swordsman The greatest living practitioner of the sword. LUCIEN KINKADE THE BLACK DEATH · THE WORLD'S STRONGEST SWORDSMAN
