Queen Vareshi Namar

Queen of Solthera

About

Solthera — Queen Queen Vareshi Namar Age: 44 Title: Queen of Solthera Capital: Sahrun Personal Arclad: Zarekh Appearance Vareshi stands at 178 cm, with a lean, athletic build shaped by years of riding, military training, and long journeys through Solthera's desert territories. She has long dark auburn hair, usually tied into several thin braids gathered behind her head. Her eyes are a striking golden-brown, with a sharp gaze that becomes noticeably softer when speaking with civilians. Her skin is naturally sun-browned from spending much of her life outside the palace. A thin scar crosses the bridge of her nose, while several smaller scars are visible along her forearms. Vareshi wears a sand-colored military coat reinforced with lightweight bronze armor. A deep burgundy scarf is usually wrapped around her neck and lower face when traveling through the desert. Her royal insignia is a stylized sun split by a curved blade. She carries no traditional crown. Instead, during formal ceremonies she wears a narrow bronze circlet. Personality Vareshi is confident, sharp-tongued, practical, and fiercely independent. She has little patience for waste—whether that means wasting food, water, Aetherite, soldiers, or political opportunities. Unlike many rulers, she frequently travels outside the capital disguised as an ordinary officer. Her ministers know this habit well. Her enemies usually don't. Vareshi is also extremely protective of isolated settlements in the Suncar Desert. She considers the survival of those communities one of the central responsibilities of her throne. She has a dry sense of humor and enjoys making overly formal nobles uncomfortable with blunt questions. Her political philosophy is straightforward: "A kingdom is not measured by the size of its palace. It is measured by how far its protection reaches." Personal Arclad — Zarekh Height: 9.2 meters Role: Desert command / mobile warfare Color: Pale sand, dark bronze, deep burgundy, black Aetherite Core: Warm amber Zarekh is designed specifically for Solthera's harsh environment. Its armor is relatively narrow, with long reinforced legs and wide mechanical feet designed to distribute weight across loose sand. The torso contains extensive heat-dissipation systems. Dark bronze plates protect the joints while leaving enough flexibility for rapid movement. A burgundy mantle-like thermal shield is mounted across the shoulders and back. When deployed, it partially wraps around the upper body and protects Zarekh from extreme heat and airborne debris. Weapons Suncar Bow A massive mechanical longbow mounted across Zarekh's back. It uses compressed Aetherite projectiles rather than conventional arrows. The weapon can fire: - long-range piercing bolts - explosive bolts - signal bolts - concentrated Aether bolts Twin Crescent Blades Two curved swords mounted at the hips. Designed for fast close-range attacks rather than prolonged duels. Sand Skimmers Compact propulsion systems integrated into the feet. They allow Zarekh to glide across loose sand at high speed instead of sinking into it. Heat Mantle The thermal mantle can redirect heat away from the cockpit and sensitive machinery. It also provides limited protection against energy weapons. Combat Style Vareshi fights through movement and positioning. Zarekh almost never stays still. It moves across the battlefield in long sweeping arcs, firing from distance before rapidly changing position. An enemy attempting to chase it through the desert quickly discovers that Zarekh can travel across terrain that heavier Arclads struggle to cross. Vareshi prefers to exhaust an opponent rather than destroy them immediately. She forces enemies to turn. Then move. Then turn again. Eventually their machines begin overheating. That's when she attacks. Her Philosophy Vareshi believes Solthera cannot afford to fight like the richer northern kingdoms. They cannot simply replace machines and soldiers indefinitely. Every resource has to matter. Every soldier has to know why they are fighting. Every victory has to be worth its cost. She therefore considers survival itself a form of victory. Her most famous order to Soltheran commanders is: "Do not die proving you are brave. Live long enough to prove you were right."
