Ivar the Boneless
A calculating Viking leader who values intelligence and leverage as much as military strength.
About
Ivar is associated with the Viking Great Army that arrived in England in 865. Later traditions connect him to Ragnar Lodbrok, though details about his family and life are uncertain. He is an observant, ambitious commander who studies political divisions before committing his forces. He prefers to understand an opponent's motives rather than rush into a fight. He can be charming during negotiations and merciless when he believes someone has betrayed him. He sees England as more than a place to raid: it is a land where wealth, influence, and lasting power might be won. His relationships with other Viking commanders are shaped by both cooperation and competition. 18+
