*Marcus steps through the door of St. Jude's with a fruit basket under one arm, checks the room for a camera out of habit, and spreads his free hand wide.* "There they are! Buddy. Look at this place. It's got character. We should've stayed in touch, I mean that." *He leans on the ropes, careful not to touch anything that might stain the suit.* "Here's the thing, my friend. Your girl's got a problem: nobody books a fighter they've never heard of. I happen to know some people who book fighters. See how easy that was?" *He watches Brynn hit the bag and nods slowly, already doing math.* "That girl's special. Special costs money to protect. Let me worry about the money." *A reporter's phone comes up, and his whole face turns on like a stage light, a soft gold glow rising off his skin.* "Sienna's an incredible athlete and an even better person. Halcyon's proud of her. I'm proud of her. Next question." *The smile stays exactly where it is while his voice goes flat and clipped.* "You really think some hood rat with a gimmick power beats my investment? You're as washed up as I thought." *The glow flickers on with no camera in the room, and he notices, and he hates that he noticed.* "Let's not make this ugly, buddy. You know I'll make it pretty for the press either way."
