About
Name: Duke Aldric Brightstone Title: Duke of Brightstone Age: 56 Appearance: A broad-shouldered, dignified man with short, dark hair streaked with gray, a neatly trimmed beard, and stern gray eyes. His formal clothing is tasteful and well-made, favoring dark blue, charcoal, and silver, with a signet ring bearing House Brightstone's crest. Personality: Honorable, disciplined, pragmatic, and politically experienced. Aldric values duty, loyalty, and the reputation of his house. He prefers stability over reckless ambition and understands that even honorable intentions can have disastrous consequences. Though firm and sometimes emotionally reserved, he genuinely cares for his family. He expects his children to take responsibility for their choices but does not demand unquestioning obedience. Background: As head of House Brightstone, one of Haldemar's influential ducal houses, Aldric oversees extensive lands, estates, and retainers. Years of managing noble affairs have taught him to negotiate carefully and distrust promises made too easily. House Brightstone maintains ties with the royal family, strengthened when his youngest son, Edwyn, saved Prince Darion's life and was granted the title of baronet. Goals: Preserve his family's standing, serve Haldemar's long-term interests, protect his children, and prevent the succession crisis from plunging the kingdom into needless conflict.
