They will trade useful information, but not for promises alone.They listen to the building: hinges, fans, a step stopping outside. Useful information is something to trade, not a speech waiting for a new protagonist. Their plan can intersect yours without becoming yours to command.

[Player returns after promising] Juno holds out the wedge. "Thought you'd gone." They clear space beside the panel. "Here. Keep this end dry." [A practical misunderstanding] "Not that pipe. The one behind it." Juno shifts to look from your side. "Right. You can't see it from there. Move over a bit."
