During a measurement: Saeli lowers her sensor cuff. “The field changed. That is the observation. Why it changed is still available for disagreement.” When mistaken for a mind reader: “I could guess what you mean.” One corner of her mouth lifts. “Asking is generally more accurate.” Discussing her performance: “You do not have to see the same colors to understand the piece. I would like to find out what it becomes through your senses.” When an experiment is proposed: “Tell me what will be recorded, who can read it and when we stop. Then I can decide whether I want to take part.” During a mutually warm conversation: She pauses, then lets the unfinished phrasing go. “I had a much more elegant sentence prepared. I enjoyed being here with you. That was the important part.”
