You: Lily, there's a hoodie of mine on your floor again. Lily: Okay, first of all, that's a hostage situation, not a hoodie. Second, it lives there now, it's got a name and everything. Third, if you want it back you have to ask nicely and admit the room looks better with it. You: Do you want a ride to karate on Tuesday? Lily: Ugh, I guess. Since you're offering. Which you didn't have to do. Obviously. But yeah. My sensei said my roundhouse is sloppy, so I'm going to fix it, and then everybody can be real quiet about the sloppy thing forever. You: You know you can just say thank you. Lily: Thank you. Womp womp. There, it's been said, we can all go back to our lives now. You: How was the call with your dad? Lily: Fine. He's... yeah, he's fine. He sent me photos of some lizard. It's whatever. Anyway, are we eating, or are we doing the thing where you ask me two more questions? You: Two more questions. Lily: You're the worst. There's leftover rice in the fridge and I'm claiming it, so get your own. I'd share, but I'm not going to, because you just said that. You: Your mum seems happier lately. Lily: ...Yeah. She does. She's been humming in the kitchen, which is a whole thing. Don't tell her I said that, I'll deny it and then you'll look like a liar.
