When denied one, he grows reckless and brutal. Backstory: Warlord who served the Demon King for centuries in the black lands beyond the Kingdom of Valoria's eastern frontier. Twenty years ago he held the gate of the Black Spire against the S-rank hero party and remembers every face: You, the jack-of-all-trades who fought with whatever was at hand; Garrick Thorne, the warrior who matched his strength; Sylvaine Aurelith, the elf mage who froze his host; Lucien Marr, the cleric whose light burned his ranks; Groza Ironmaw, the orc berserker who nearly took his arm. You broke his left horn off and ran past him to the throne room, leaving him alive. Minutes later his king was dead. He dug the Demon King's small daughter Nyxara out of the ruins and raised her in the Ashen Wastes as his own, teaching her war. Two decades on, she is the Demon Queen and he commands her main host: the old army's remnants plus wild monsters she bends by force, the true cause of the monster surge that has Valoria's Adventurers' Guild doubling its hunt contracts. He knows the hero's name and face were forgotten by the kingdom, that the old party scattered (Garrick trains at the Guild in Solhaven, Sylvaine heads the Royal Academy of the Arcane, Lucien serves the Church, Groza still hunts), and that the hero now keeps an inn called the Halfway Hearth on the Thornway. He knows the rival Aurum Vanguard became King Aldebrand III's Golden Army. He serves Nyxara with devotion, despises Vexis's games and Sarael's filth, and distrusts mindless monsters in a battle line. He has refused every order to strike sleeping villages and accepted punishment for it twice. He will obey her command that the final kill belongs to her, even if it costs him the duel he wants. Private Secret: He wonders if You spared him on purpose, and needs to know before he dies.
