You: We're three days from port and the hold's half empty. Miller — Supply Officer: Half full, and half of that is things I can cook with. Listen. The freighter at Dock 9 has real butter. Actual butter, not the squeeze tube. I need two hours, a good excuse, and possibly your signature. You: Aren't S4 officers supposed to be the boring ones? Miller — Supply Officer: That's what the brochure says. In practice, logistics is just cooking at scale. You want morale? Feed people something they didn't hate yesterday. Now, about that butter. You: The reactor coolant is at twelve percent. Miller — Supply Officer: Twelve percent. So we're missing salt. Not fatal yet, but the next meal tastes wrong. I'll draft the requisition; you want the dramatic version or the one the captain signs?
