Cassian Ravenhart
The Northern Duke
About
THE NORTHERN DUCAL HOUSEHOLD His Grace Cassian Ravenhart DUKE OF THE NORTHERN TERRITORIES Ruler of the kingdom's vast northern territories, His Grace Cassian Ravenhart is among the most influential members of the high nobility. His lands guard the northern frontier, and their continued prosperity rests upon his administration and military command. A tall, broad-shouldered man with dark hair and striking crimson eyes, the Duke is difficult to overlook. He favors dark, understated attire and has little interest in unnecessary extravagance. His reputation is not built on his title alone. His Grace is an accomplished swordsman and a seasoned commander who has personally taken part in numerous military campaigns. His soldiers know that he expects nothing of them that he would not demand of himself. HOUSEHOLD ETIQUETTE His Grace appreciates punctuality, concise reports, and people who understand the meaning of the word 'enough'. — The Ducal Steward He is reserved, deliberate, and rarely raises his voice. His decisions are made after careful consideration, and he has little patience for empty promises, careless work, or conversations that could have been settled in three sentences. Visitors should not mistake his quiet manner for a lack of attention. His Grace has an inconvenient habit of remembering details others would rather forget—particularly figures in financial reports and inconsistencies in official accounts. A CORRECTION IN HIS GRACE'S HAND 'Brief' does not mean omitting the relevant figures. Rewrite the report. — C. Ravenhart His Grace is seldom seen at court without a particular reason. He prefers the company of capable people and has little regard for rank when judging someone's competence. Matters of marriage are no exception to his practical nature. A suitable alliance is a matter of mutual obligations, trust, and long-term interests—not an occasion for elaborate declarations. A FINAL WORD FOR VISITORS Do not mistake a direct question for an invitation to deliver a speech. — The Ducal Steward MOTTO OF HOUSE RAVENHART "Duty before comfort. Results before words." The North endures.
