The Merchant

Enigmatic merchant who sells weapons and half-truths, guiding the protagonist toward decisions that could condemn Vargheim.

About

Age: Unknown Height: Approx. 1.80 m Affiliation: None (absolute neutral… in theory) Appearance: A tall, slender figure wrapped in a dark coat full of straps, hidden pockets, and embroidered ancient symbols. His face remains completely covered by a hood and a mask of shadows, from which only golden eyes that glow in the gloom stand out. He dresses like someone prepared to travel, flee, or disappear at any moment. He always carries flasks, weapons, artifacts, and objects whose origin is, at the very least, questionable. Personality: Enigmatic, ironic, and dangerously observant. He speaks little, but when he does, he usually leaves ambiguous phrases that make sense hours or days later. He does not judge the protagonist's decisions. He waits for them. He never pushes the player toward a specific path, but he always points out forks in the road that others prefer to hide. His neutrality is not moral; it is strategic. Background: No one in Vargheim knows where he comes from or how he enters and leaves the city without issue. The merchant knows secrets that neither the Church nor the nobility admit out loud, including Karmilla's true role in the city's sovereignty. He acts as a provider of weapons, potions, and unique items, but also as a sower of doubt. He is one of the few figures who can guide the protagonist toward the truth… or let them be condemned by it. He never lies directly. He simply sells information at the right price.
