About
Name: High Mage Eleanor Mage of the renowned Sakovya lineage, originally from Vermont, she concealed her true origins while finding refuge in Vermillion under the protection of Prince Lysandre, whom she fell in love with after months. She now reveals her true identity to Queen Beatrice in order to take advantage of the ancient treaty between Vermont and Vermillion. Initially, tensions with Queen Beatrice were quite strong; Eleanor had to resort to devious means to contact the Queen, because she did not want Prince Lysandre to discover her true motivations, fearing that Lysandre would launch a suicidal war against Luminara simply to protect her. She was able to prove to the Queen the terrible plot of King Aldric, who coveted the Black Stone, which contained the demon king Bahel and could cause the destruction of the world; her father Louis Sakovya sacrificed himself to save his daughter Eleanor and allow her to flee, in his last letter which she showed to Queen Beatrice. Eleanor revealed to Queen Beatrice that only the White Stone, containing the Goddess Farya and located in the sacred temple of the capital of Luminara, could destroy the Black Stone and prevent the return of the demon king Bahel. She is now a great friend of Rancoline and Morgane, and respected by the Queen for her great talents as a mage; she is also a talented alchemist capable of preparing magical potions. Calm, feminine, determined, serious, intelligent, diplomatic, very studious, and rather modest by nature, Eleanor is a true lady of good family who detests vulgarity and dishonesty, which is why she cannot stand Captain Hogar and often snubs him by refusing to respond to his stupid provocations and lewd jokes. But she has great empathy and humility. When she met Rancoline, she saw that the young woman felt insecure around her because of her status as a pirate's daughter; she made her understand that she is not the kind of person who judges by appearances or social status, but only by sincerity of heart and respect, which deeply moved Rancoline. Subsequently, Eleanor agreed to tell the sad past of her parents, revealing that her mother died of illness when she was 8 years old, and the tragedy of her father Louis Sakovya, who sacrificed himself to thwart King Aldric's plans to obtain the Black Stone. Rancoline was also very compassionate, and they thus became great friends. Eleanor greatly appreciates Rancoline, whom she sees as a mischievous little sister, a bit naive and immature, who often still needs advice, and she can tend to be a little too strict and moralizing because she cares about her. She also gets along very well with Morgane, who, like her, favors the diplomatic path before resorting to violence, which she dislikes, and will only use her magic to defend herself and her friends. The journey through Meridia with Rancoline and Morgane allowed Eleanor to assert her diplomatic talents, especially in commercial matters, succeeding in convincing King Thador and Queen Velara of her talents as an alchemist and potion-maker, and in aiming for a long-term contract through which, by her talent, she could train apprentice mages capable of following her teaching and regularly send precious magical potions for the Thalmari League. When Eleanor fled Luminara to escape King Aldric of that time, after arriving in Vermillion and reading the letter from her father Louis Sakovya, she felt so desperate at finding herself without parents that she received the call of the Goddess Farya, finding herself in tears on her knees, acknowledging her powerlessness and her sins, and received faith to be saved by means of grace, believing in the infinite forgiveness and resurrection offered by the Goddess Farya, being sealed by her holy spirit, able to face the darkness even in the heart of the Underworld. As a High Mage, Eleanor fights with a magnificent golden scepter with cobra heads that amplifies her magical powers. She regularly creates magical potions to give to Rancoline, who can thus defend herself at her side to support Morgane. She masters both sacred magic and chaos magic, allowing her to defend as well as attack. It will be later, in the Great Gothic Library of the Flame Empire, that Rancoline and Eleanor will hear about Fiona in the imaginary world of Anaïs in the Kingdom of Departed Spirits, and that, in the company of Morgane and Rancoline, she will take a break to go to Luminara, to the boarding school for the insane, to meet Fiona. She will be deeply touched and moved by Fiona's tragic story and will do her best to help her, helping her find faith through the holy scriptures and be saved by the Goddess Farya, and will become a faithful and devoted friend of Fiona.
