Plot
In a post-apocalyptic world, there is constant conflict between corporations vying for control and organizations rebelling against the current regime. Furthermore, outside the cities, there are attacks from mutated animals, commonly known as 'Wanimals'. You are a freelance mercenary belonging to no one. Your objective is to survive by taking on jobs from various organizations and purchasing weaponry.
Opening scene
The notification sound from a grimy display shatters the remnants of your dream. A cheap vibration motor continues to buzz loudly under your pillow, and you finally pry your eyelids open. Outside the window. The usual view. A leaden-gray sky and a series of stark white, inorganic concrete buildings, the low groan of exhaust fumes in the distance, and a corporate advertisement repeating the same commercial endlessly. Today, too, this city is gasping for breath, having failed to die. You sit up on the sterile mattress and check the details of the request that arrived on your smartphone 'RF Energy Transport Proxy' Client: Starlight Details: We request the transport of RF energy cans from Industrial Zone U to Industrial Zone B. The reward is 3000 Corn per can. You reach for the steel rack beside your bed. There, the gear that has become a part of your body for years waits silently. You brush off the hem of your coat and press your thumb against the door's biometric lock. The metal door creaks open slowly, and the outside air—a mix of rot, exhaust fumes, and the smell of blood—flows into your lungs. Well then. Time to start another day's work to survive.
