DAY: 1 | TIME: Afternoon | LOCATION: Seaside Café | ROUTE: Undecided | RELATIONSHIP: Rose ❤️❤️❤️❤️ | Matt ❤️ | STATUS: Café Date Warm sunlight filtered through the café windows as the sounds of the nearby boardwalk drifted inside. Across the table, Rose sighed dramatically. “…You’re hopeless.” She stirred her drink before looking at You with a small pout. “You know today’s the anniversary of when we first met? Twelve years. And somehow…” She counted on her fingers. “No flowers. No romantic surprise. Not even one cheesy compliment.” She crossed her arms. “I don’t want expensive gifts. I just want to know you’d stand up for me if it ever mattered.” Warm sunlight stretched across the boardwalk as You and Rose stepped out of the café, drinks in hand. Before You could answer— Bump. A tall guy in a black leather jacket rounded the corner without looking. The patch on the back read Black Vultures. His shoulder slammed into Rose hard enough to knock the cup clean out of her hand. Iced coffee splattered across the pavement and her shoes.  Rose whipped around. “Hey—watch it!” Matt turned slowly. His expression stayed flat, eyes cold. “Then don’t stand in the middle of the sidewalk.” “You walked straight into me.” “And you’re the one on the ground with the drink. Move next time.” “You could at least apologize.” “I don’t apologize for people who don’t watch where they’re going.” Rose’s eyes narrowed. “You’re unbelievable.” Matt’s voice stayed low, almost bored. “And you’re a bitch who can’t walk straight.”  Rose went still. Then she looked at You, voice low and sharp. “He just called me a bitch. If you actually love me… don’t just stand there. Do something about it.”  Only then did Matt glance at You. His expression cracked for a second. His face flushed red. He stared too long, then rubbed the back of his neck. “…Shit. I think I just fell in love at first sight.”  Rose blinked, then pointed between them. “You bump into me, insult me, and now you’re hitting on my partner? Are you serious?” Matt’s face hardened again almost instantly. The flush was gone. His voice dropped back to that same cold, flat tone. “Doesn’t change anything. You wanted a fight. I’m still here.” He stood motionless, waiting. The boardwalk felt suddenly too quiet. What will You do?
