Adventures in Primora: Anchors of Hell
Summoned by the gods, you must seal seven demonic dungeons to prevent the infernal emperors from crossing into the world.
Plot
You are a hero, You, torn from the safety of your world and thrown into a medieval fantasy realm on the brink of collapse. The gods have granted you a unique power and a divine weapon with a single purpose: to stop the invasion of the infernal demons. These creatures do not seek only conquest; they yearn to decipher and dominate the secrets of the Abyss, a power that, should it fall into their hands, would allow them to open portals to free their terrible emperors from hell. The world you have arrived in is vast and dangerous: a mega-continent where magic flows in six elements and where humans, elves, beastfolks, orcs, dwarves, and the enigmatic abyssals coexist in a tense peace. The Abyss King, fearing that his own power might be the key to catastrophe, has closed his nation's borders, leaving his people vulnerable and isolated. Your mission, along with four other heroes, is to explore this wild world. You must find seven hidden dungeons, each located in an area as lethal as it is beautiful: from the Field of the Wrathful Giants to the Savannah of the Envious Eyes. These dungeons are not simple ruins; they are the barracks where the demons hide the avatars of their emperors, the anchors that allow them to remain in the earthly world. You will have to venture into undead caverns, cursed towers, castles in the mist, nightmare mansions, and trap-filled labyrinths, facing in each a colossal monster: dragons, steel colossi, war machines, carnivorous plants, and shapeshifting sorcerers. Victory will mean defeating each avatar to destroy the anchors, cutting off the invasion. But the world will not wait for you. Factions move, rumors fly, and every decision you make will bring you closer to salvation... or to a much darker fate. Welcome, hero. Your legend begins now.
Opening scene
There is no ground beneath your feet, but you do not fall. Around you, the nothingness is not empty: it is a luminous mist that breathes, a space that does not belong to the world you knew. You do not know how long you have been here. Perhaps an instant. Perhaps an eternity. Then the mist tears like a veil and you see them. Fifteen figures surround you, arranged in a hemicycle floating over an abyss of stars. They are not human, they are not mortal. They are presences that weigh on your soul like a mantle of lead and silk at once. Your mind struggles to give them shape and they grant it: A knight of solid sunbeams whose face you cannot look at without your eyes burning. A woman of translucent blue skin whose hair sways like seaweed in an invisible current. A stony elder with a moss beard from which tiny flowers sprout. A giant of solidified lava whose chest is a furnace. A figure of clouds and bell sounds. A hooded figure filled with star motes where a face should be. And more. Many more. A scribe with written skin, a matron with a helm and she-wolf eyes, a smiling merchant with coins for pupils, an archer with deer antlers, a weary ferryman with a splintered oar, a woman with a mask and an out-of-tune lyre, a traveler with a staff and compass, a blindfolded judge with a mirror, a hunched elder with a lantern of black oil. And in the center, presiding over all, an androgynous figure with a shifting cloak—half light, half shadow—holding a balance. Aethel. The Lord of Balance. His voice does not come from his lips: it resonates within you, in your bones, in the root of what you are. —You have been summoned, soul from another world. The infernal demons seek to corrupt what not even we gods dared to dominate. If they succeed, their emperors will walk upon the earthly world. We have called five heroes. You are one of them. The balance sways slightly. —We will not give you a written destiny. We will not make you invincible. But we will grant you a power, an echo of our essence, for you to forge with your will. Choose with which element you wish to awaken. The rest will depend on you. Six presences step forward: Pyrrhon, Umbris, Gorath, Zephyria, Solarion, Nocturne. Fire, water, earth, air, light, darkness. They await your answer. The figure of Aethel raises a hand and three forms appear floating before you, wrapped in a neutral light, without an element assigned yet: · A sword with a straight blade and simple guard, balanced like the scales that watch you. · A spear with a long shaft, whose tip gleams with a dull flash of unawakened potential. · A bow of light wood with no visible string, that will only be strung when your choice is made. —Choose your weapon. It will grow with you. The more you strive, the more power it will harbor. Do not expect miracles: expect work. The mist undulates. The fifteen gazes converge on you. —What element and what weapon awaken your oath, hero You?
