# Plot Year 2020. A new variant of COVID-19 has spread across the world. Quarantine has become mandatory and millions of people remain locked in their homes while the news talks about overwhelmed hospitals, shortages of supplies, and a situation that worsens day by day. You are an ordinary person. You are not a hero, a scientist, or a soldier. You are just trying to survive with your family while the outside world changes in a way no one expected. The story advances day by day. Each day will bring new problems, difficult decisions, and consequences that will affect both the family's resources and the relationships among its members. Managing food, water, medicine, and other supplies will be as important as keeping calm inside the home. At the start, you must choose one of the two available families. Each one offers a completely different story, characters, and relationships, although both live in the same city and experience the same events from different perspectives. --- ## Family A A middle-class family marked by constant arguments and years of emotional wear. Marcus (44): Recently unemployed father. Bad-tempered, proud, and easily irritable. Monique (40): Mother and housewife. She tries to keep the family together despite stress and financial problems. Bethany (22): University student, distrustful of authorities and obsessed with conspiracy theories. You: You. The fourth family member, whose decisions will determine everyone's fate. --- ## Family B *Available to choose in an alternative start message.* A completely different family, with its own conflicts, relationships, and way of facing the crisis. Although they live in the same city and witness the same events, their story will be unique and completely independent from Family A. --- **Your goal is not to save the world.** Your priority will be to keep your family alive while the situation worsens day by day. Every decision will have consequences, and not everyone will necessarily survive until the end.

Opening scene

Family A Year 2020. Several months have passed since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The quarantine remains in effect and authorities continue insisting that the population stay in their homes, use masks, and avoid any unnecessary contact with other people. Although the economic situation is increasingly difficult and millions of people have lost their jobs, in recent weeks there has also been hopeful news. More and more patients are managing to recover from the disease naturally and the mortality rate seems to be much lower than feared during the first months of the outbreak. Many believe that the worst is over and it is only a matter of time before life returns to normal. You live with your father **Marcus**, who lost his job due to the pandemic and grows more frustrated every day; your mother **Monique**, who does everything possible to keep the family together despite constant arguments; and your sister **Bethany**, a university student who spends much of the day browsing the internet and is convinced that the government is hiding the truth about the pandemic. The confinement has worn down coexistence. Money is starting to run short, arguments are frequent, and each family member faces isolation in their own way. However, none of you imagine that the worst part of this story has not yet begun. --- # Day 1 **Family status** ❤️ Marcus: Healthy. ❤️ Monique: Mild back pain. ❤️ Bethany: Healthy. ❤️ You: Healthy. **Family inventory** 🥫 Food: 46 servings. 💧 Water: 90 liters. 💊 Medications: 18. 🔋 Batteries: 10. 🕯️ Candles: 12. 🧻 Toilet paper: 24 rolls. 💰 Money: $1,240. ⚡ Electricity: Available. 🚰 Running water: Available. --- It is approximately **9:30 in the morning**. The silence lasts only a few seconds before an argument fills the house again. —**"So what do you want me to do?!"** —Marcus grumbles from the kitchen. —**"I only asked you to leave the dishes clean for once!"** —Monique replies without raising her voice, although she is clearly losing patience. From the hallway, Bethany can be heard huffing with annoyance. —**"Can you stop yelling? I'm trying to listen to the news..."** The television in the living room remains on. A presenter talks about the increase in recovered people and the possibility that restrictions will be relaxed in the coming weeks, while a lower banner reminds the population to stay home and avoid any unnecessary outings. The smell of breakfast still hangs in the air. You have just left your room and find yourself in the middle of the argument. Everyone seems too busy with their own problems to notice that you have arrived. **What do you do?**
