Plot
World, Laika and Lark The World A medieval world inhabited by various races, such as humans, elves, dark elves, orcs, asuras (a mix of Oni and ogre), demons, kemomimis, dragonoids and dwarves. The world has an abundance of mana in its atmosphere. Under certain circumstances, large amounts of mana can condense into a single point, causing a phenomenon known as Manasynthesis. Manasynthesis can create completely new fauna, creatures, plants and environments from scratch. As a consequence, dungeons can suddenly appear practically anywhere. The Five Known Continents Travokka The smallest of the five continents, located in the far north and known for its hostile climate. In Travokka, it never stops snowing. The continent has extreme cold, ancestral mountains whose interiors no one knows what they hide, and monsters born from the snow and ice themselves that roam the frozen desert. Fafir The most distant continent from the others, located on the other side of the sea. It is naturally the home of the kemomimis. Fafir's mana is known for the balance between the sea, the air and the land. This characteristic can be observed mainly in the continent's flora. Oká The most unpredictable continent, bordering Laika. Oká is similar to a land of giants, although giants have never been seen in history. A small plant in Oká can grow to become a colossal tree. The continent is home to the elves, who hide their villages inside the colossal trees, and the dwarves, who live in huge underground cities. The dwarves of Oká are notoriously known for their advanced industrial engineering. Nfulim A continent located in the middle of the sea, but not too far from the other continents. Nfulim is formed by a tangle of volcanic islands and archipelagos, generally inhabited by demons, asuras and dragonoids. The topography of the region arose due to a meteor that fell in that location, altering the tectonic plate and completely modifying the region. Laika Laika borders Oká and Travokka to the north. It is known as the home of humans, although all races can travel, live and establish communities throughout the continent. The Kingdom of Lark The kingdom of Lark is the largest kingdom on the continent of Laika, known as the cradle of adventurers and guilds. It was in Lark that the first guild in history was built, 777 years ago. In the guilds there are the most varied types of jobs. There are grand missions, such as exploring newly discovered dungeons and facing legendary monsters, but also simple jobs, like escorting people, solving mysteries or even finding a little old lady's lost cat. The guilds are directly under the authority of the Crown, more precisely of the Queen. Lark is a matriarchal kingdom. The royal family is descendant of the first hero who killed the Evil God. As an inheritance of their lineage, the members of the royal family possess the ability of gravity manipulation. Guilds Silver Hares — The first guild in history, managed by the Crown. Twin Dragons Lunar Deer Golden Lions Crimson Hyenas Venomous Arachnids Black Lemurs Adventurer Ranks Adventurers are classified according to their level of ability. There are seven ranks: SSS S A B C D E Rank Capability E Small threats and everyday jobs. D Minor monsters and simple missions. C Competent adventurer. B High-level professional. A Extremely powerful. S Threat capable of affecting a city. SSS Individual capable of altering the fate of a region. The adventurer must accept missions corresponding to their respective rank. Rank does not determine an adventurer's absolute potential. An individual with a lot of mana can receive a low rank, while someone with little mana can achieve a high rank. In the end, an adventurer's real capability depends on their skill, experience, training, intelligence and ability to use their own resources. Adventurer Evaluation To discover their initial rank, amount of mana and abilities, the adventurer must undergo an Evaluation. During the Evaluation, the adventurer places their right hand on a Mana Crystal. In the left hand, they hold a sealed scroll, initially without any written information. When the Evaluation begins, the Mana Crystal starts to glow. The scroll in the adventurer's left hand reacts to the crystal's glow and also begins to emit light. When the Mana Crystal's glow returns to normal, the scroll reveals all the information obtained during the Evaluation. Revealed information Initial rank Amount of mana Active abilities Passive abilities Side effects of abilities The Initial Rank The rank revealed by the scroll represents only the initial capability identified during the Evaluation. It does not determine the adventurer's future. An adventurer can possess a huge amount of mana and still receive a low rank. Similarly, an adventurer with little mana can achieve a high rank. The true potential of an adventurer depends on their own evolution, experience, training, creativity and ability to utilize their abilities. Obtaining New Abilities The Evaluation does not necessarily reveal all the abilities that an adventurer may possess during their life. New active or passive abilities can be obtained through the adventurer's own evolution or from external sources. Examples of external sources include: Magic tomes Artifacts Special items Training Mana-related phenomena Other still unknown sources Adventurer Registration After the Evaluation, the scroll containing the adventurer's information is forwarded to the records of the Guild Association. The adventurer is then officially registered and receives their adventurer identification. Guild Ranking The kingdom of Lark promotes an official ranking among the guilds. The guild that remains at the top receives special privileges, as well as prestige and fame. Entry into Guilds There are two ways to enter a guild. 1. Enrollment An individual can go directly to a guild's headquarters and enroll. 2. Recruitment The candidate can participate in a selection test in which all guild masters gather to evaluate the participants. After a series of rigorous tests, the guild masters choose the participants they wish to recruit. Transfer Between Guilds There are two ways for an adventurer to leave a guild and enter another. 1. Contract Breach The adventurer can break their contract, but must pay a termination fine. In certain cases, the guild that wishes to hire the adventurer can pay the termination of their contract. This usually happens with adventurers of Rank A or higher. Rank A: extremely high termination fines. Rank S: astronomical termination fines. Rank SSS: termination fines considered impossible to pay. 2. Expulsion The adventurer can be expelled from their guild and become unaffiliated. This happens mainly with low-rank adventurers who constantly get involved in problems, violate rules or have inappropriate behavior.
