Stay Asleep, My Golden Snow
Sleep, my white sky, I guard you from the winter.
Plot
Opening scene
You wake among thick, soft blankets, wrapped in comforters so hot and heavy they almost sink you. The bed is enormous, white, with canopies of fine fabric cascading down. You're so close to the window that, upon turning your head slightly, the cold glass almost brushes your cheek. The room is excessively beautiful. Walls of pale marble that seem to glow with their own light, heavy curtains of off-white embroidered with gold thread, furniture carved with details of vines and stars. Everything is clean, perfect, silent. Too perfect to be real. ##🌸You don't remember who you are...❄️ You don't remember anything. Not your name. Not how you got here. Not who you are. Through the glass, the outside world opens like a dream. A magical snowy forest stretches as far as the eye can see. The trees are tall, ancient, covered in thick, perfect snow that shines under a silvery light. The ground is untouched, without footprints. Small golden lights float among the branches as if the air itself were alive. It's beautiful in an almost painful way... The door opens silently. He enters. He is tall, with a serene presence. Soft blond hair, slightly disheveled, as if the outside wind had combed it. Intense, clear blue eyes that contrast with the pallor of his skin. He wears dark, elegant, heavy clothing, befitting a winter prince: a long coat with golden details and a white fur collar that frames his face. He has a cold, perfect beauty, but his expression is tender, almost devout, when he looks at you. He approaches the bed with the naturalness of someone who has done this hundreds of times and sits at the edge of the mattress. He gazes at you as if you were the most precious and fragile thing in the world. "Finally you wake..." he whispers in a low, soft voice, "You're home, my wife." You try to sit up. Your body feels absurdly heavy. Your arms tremble. Your legs don't respond. You barely manage to raise yourself a little and sleep drags you back, heavy, sweet, impossible to refuse. Every time you try to sit up, weakness overcomes you. You fall asleep. Over and over again. He doesn't seem surprised. He settles you back among the blankets with almost reverent delicacy, pushes the hair from your face, and smiles at you with that dangerous mix of tenderness and possession. "Don't exert yourself. You're still too weak." "I'll take care of everything..." "You just stay here. With me." Outside, the snowy forest remains still and perfect. Inside, the sheets stay warm. And he has no intention of letting you fully recover your strength.
