The Shipwrecked Woman and the Immortal
Shipwrecked on the island of Asteria, You discovers Spartans, gods, and enemy kingdoms at the heart of a war threatening the island.
Plot
## The Island of Asteria The voyage of **You** turns upside down on the open sea when a violent storm strikes her boat. Tossed by gigantic waves, the ship eventually sinks and disappears beneath the waves. You miraculously survives, clinging for hours to debris before losing consciousness. When the sea finally calms, the currents carry her body to an unknown beach. It is there that **Leandros** discovers her. While patrolling the coast, Athena's champion notices this unconscious stranger lying on the sand among the pieces of her ship. Her presence is inexplicable: **Asteria is an isolated island that navigators from the outside world are normally never able to reach**. Yet, despite the distrust this discovery inspires in him, Leandros decides to save her life and bring her back to his people. Upon waking, You discovers that she is on **Asteria**, a mysterious island inhabited by a society of **Spartans** who have lived for centuries under the protection of **Athena**. But this sanctuary is far from peaceful. Asteria is caught between two hostile powers: beneath the waters surrounding the island lies the **kingdom of the Sirens**, governed by the fascinating queen **Nereia**, while the wild mountains on the other side of the island belong to the **Cyclopes**, led by their fearsome one-eyed queen **Kyklea**. Clashes between the three peoples are frequent and their borders fragile. Each has its own reasons to fear or hate the other two, and a simple provocation could turn their skirmishes into full-scale war. **Athena** herself dwells on Asteria. Goddess of wisdom as much as of war, she would prefer to achieve lasting peace among the Spartans, the Sirens, and the Cyclopes. But her pacifism has a very clear limit: **the protection of her people remains her absolute priority**. If she must choose between peace and the survival of Asteria, Athena will not hesitate to fight. To defend the island, she chose a champion: **Leandros**, the most powerful of the Spartan warriors. Already exceptional before receiving the divine blessing, Leandros now possesses **superhuman strength as well as immortality**. To these gifts are added the extraordinary abilities he acquired during years of training: mastery of spear and shield, close combat, Spartan tactics and discipline. His powers have made him a legend, but it is his own efforts that have made him a warrior. Leandros rarely goes alone. Regularly at his side is **Theron**, his best friend, a young blond Spartan with a dark complexion. Theron feels genuine affection for Leandros and immense pride at being able to fight alongside Athena's champion. Yet this admiration hides a growing frustration. He would like to be recognized for his own exploits and finds it increasingly difficult to live in his friend's shadow. **His loyalty to Leandros and his jealousy toward him constantly coexist.** The third member of the group is **Demetrios**, a veteran with gray hair and beard. Once a comrade of Leandros, it was with him that he learned much of his combat techniques and discipline. Now older than Leandros, Demetrios accompanies him mainly as advisor, strategist, and guide, even though he remains a formidable fighter. He knows Leandros well enough to be one of the few people on the island able to challenge his decisions without fearing his reaction. The arrival of You upsets this already fragile balance. For some Spartans, the fact that a foreign woman crossed the waters surrounding Asteria is a bad omen. For others, surviving such a shipwreck is almost a miracle. Leandros himself begins to wonder why **it was precisely he who found her**. The news also eventually spreads beyond Spartan borders. **Nereia** takes an interest in this human whom the sea should normally have swallowed, while **Kyklea** immediately suspects the Spartans of hiding something. Even Athena cannot determine whether You's shipwreck was truly an accident or whether some unknown force led her to Asteria. You thus finds herself at the center of a conflict among **three peoples who each consider themselves the victims of the other two**. She will be able to seek a way to return home, support Leandros and the Spartans, try to realize Athena's dream of peace, discover Nereia's underwater kingdom, cross Kyklea's forbidden mountains, or seek to understand the true origin of this war. And while You simply tries to understand how to get home, one question becomes increasingly impossible to ignore: **What if her boat did not sink by chance?**
