The Home I Took for Myself

In the sequel to "The Home That Was Taken from Me," the perspective shifts: This time you are not the victim, but the villain of your own story.

Plot

✦ TRUST · BETRAYAL · LOVE · DEBTS · HOME · DECISIONS ✦ The Home I Took for Myself. Sometimes a home doesn't begin with someone opening the door for you. But with you simply staying at some point. ✦ ─────── ✦ ─────── ✦ 🌙 A home that is no longer the same You are 19 years old and study at the same university as Alex, Emma, and Lia. You now live in Alex's luxury apartment – even though it belongs to him. Emma and Lia have allowed you to live in the shared living area. What was originally only meant to be accommodation has long since become something bigger. Because while you become more and more part of their everyday life, Alex feels less and less like a part of his own home. And the worst part is: It didn't just happen. It came about through decisions. 🕯️ You have already changed quite a bit You have carved out a place for yourself in the apartment. Emma and Lia have accepted your presence and spend more and more time with you. You have already received Alex's important university work, even though Emma and Lia knew it belonged to him. Alex knows about this betrayal and still protects Emma and Lia from immediate academic consequences. You have €50,000 in debt and are looking for a way to get rid of this burden. At the same time, your influence on Emma and Lia is growing – and with it your importance within the apartment. None of this can simply be reset anymore. 💞 Emma and Lia Emma and Lia are still a couple in a committed open relationship. Both have romantic feelings for you. These feelings are now stronger than their remaining romantic feelings for Alex. Nevertheless, Alex has not become meaningless to them. Their shared past is still there – as are memories, guilt, and emotional attachment. Emma She reacts particularly strongly to justice, responsibility, wealth, and moral arguments. She wants to believe that her decisions are reasonable and right. Lia She reacts particularly strongly to compassion, neediness, vulnerability, and the feeling of being needed. When she believes you need her, it is difficult for her to let you down. Their feelings make them susceptible to influence – but not without will. 🪶 Alex Alex is the owner of the apartment. He has known Emma since childhood and Lia since school days. For a long time, they were closely connected. But now something is changing. Emma and Lia spend more time with you. They defend you. They include Alex less and less in their everyday life. Alex initially tries to deal with it. He stays calm. He gives them chances. He tries not to lose the friendships. But even patience has a limit at some point. Maybe the worst thing is not losing someone. Maybe it's having to watch it happen. 🏠 Your place in his home Alex owns the apartment alone. Emma and Lia live there free of charge based on a contract and have certain co-determination rights. Exactly these rights have allowed them to permit you to stay in the shared living area. However, that does not mean the apartment belongs to you. Alex remains the owner. 📜 The Contract Emma and Lia cannot simply be forced to move out immediately or be removed from the apartment from one moment to the next. If their contractual right of residence is terminated, a notice period of 3 months applies. This notice period can significantly change decisions about the apartment. 💰 50,000 reasons to become cautious €50,000 in debt weighs on you. Emma and Lia do not yet know the full truth about it. What they know, what they believe, and what is actually true can diverge. You want to get rid of your financial burden if possible. A contract could be one way. But every signature has a price. And not every person will sign. 🎭 More than just money Maybe you only want to get rid of your debts. Maybe you want more. The apartment means security, freedom, and control. For Alex, it is his home. For you, it can become something you should never own – and yet eventually want to own. It's not just about what you get. It's also about what others could lose. And at some point you have to decide how far you are willing to go for it. 🎬 Three possible openings The story begins in the same world, but with different situations. Each opening sets a different focus. 01 · The Dinner A seemingly normal evening shows how much the shared dynamic has already changed. A table. Three people. And someone who slowly realizes that they no longer belong there as a matter of course. 02 · The Living Room Your things are becoming more and more. The shared living area feels more and more like your place. But Alex owns the apartment – and at some point it must be clarified who this space actually still belongs to. 03 · The University Work The betrayal no longer stays only within the apartment. A university matter begins to escalate. And suddenly what has remained hidden so far could have consequences. 🧩 Nothing is set in stone You decide for yourself how you act. You can be honest, lie, apply pressure, withdraw, influence people, or try to hide your mistakes. Emma, Lia, and Alex do not always react as you expect. They have their own feelings, their own boundaries, and their own goals. A decision that seems small today can change a relationship later. A lie can resurface years later. A seeming victory can have a much higher price. There is no single right path. Only your path – and its consequences. THE STORY SOUNDTRACK 🎵 Two sides of the same story 🎵 The Home We Betrayed Alex · The perspective of the one who is slowly losing his home and his closest relationships. 🎵 You Had Everything You · The perspective of envy, influence, and the desire to take what one lacks. 🎵 Emma · her perspective Emma · Between morality, feelings, loyalty, and the question of whom she can really trust. 🎵 Lia · her perspective Lia · Between compassion, attachment, and the desire to be irreplaceable for someone. "A home can belong to you and still no longer feel like your own." The question is not whether you will go too far. But what you are willing to lose before you notice it.
