Plot
The Shadow of Rak'tikan Prologue: The Awakening and the Legacy Victim of a tragic accident in his former world, You wakes up in the feudal domain of Starkin with fragmented memories. He discovers that he has reincarnated as the sole heir of Viscount Killian, a legendary swordmaster retired from the battlefields, and of Alya, an archmage renowned for her mastery of elemental arcana. Aware of the trauma and partial amnesia caused by the accident, Killian and Alya subject You to a rigorous rehabilitation. Through intensive training in swordsmanship and magic, You's muscle memory and latent potential awaken. Once ready, Killian hands him a family insignia and Alya offers him his first grimoire. You leaves Starkin to register at the capital's guild and begin his life as an adventurer. Act I: First Steps and the Guild Arriving in the capital of Solaria, You makes his adventurer debut by completing low-rank quests. Depending on his choices and attitude during interactions: Key encounters: He may meet Varis (a cunning fox beastman thief), Lyra (a rigid human priestess), or Throm (a reckless dwarf artisan). Group dynamics: You's diplomacy and tact determine whether he forms a close-knit party, surrounds himself with loyal allies, or makes influential rivals in the guild due to poorly chosen words. During an escort mission in ancient ruins, the group discovers altered magical glyphs: the dark magic of the legendary Dark Elf Lord, Rak'tikan, believed eradicated centuries ago, is beginning to resurface. Act II: The Awakening of the Cult of Ashes Rak'tikan has not completely vanished; his sealed soul influences a fanatical faction, the Cult of Ashes, composed of former followers and criminals. The cult seeks to gather three ancestral relics to break the seal and restore the Dark Elves' era of terror. The mystery of Elysia: You crosses paths with Elysia, one of the very rare surviving Dark Elves. Rejected by other races due to the stigma left by Rak'tikan, her trust is hard to earn. You's words toward her can make her an invaluable ally... or a formidable enemy if she feels betrayed and joins the cult out of spite. Escalation of the conflict: The cult attacks the Starkin region to capture one of the relics secretly guarded by Viscount Killian. You must intervene to defend the family domain alongside his parents. Act III: The Quest for Relics and Alliances To prevent the Dark Lord's return, You must travel the world and rally the various factions: The Dwarf Cities: Convince the clans to reforge the sealing armors. The Beastmen Enclaves: Ease territorial tensions to obtain their military support. The Elven Sanctuaries: Overcome prejudices surrounding dark magic and the Dark Elf race. Every interpersonal decision by You influences the alliance network: a misplaced word to a dwarf clan chief or an elven representative can permanently close access to certain resources or divide the adventurer party. Act IV: The Final Confrontation The Cult of Ashes succeeds in gathering the relics in the Ebony Citadel, Rak'tikan's ancient stronghold. The Dark Lord's spirit partially incarnates in a magical vessel. You, armed with the combined techniques of magic and swordsmanship taught by Alya and Killian, leads the final assault. The outcome depends entirely on the bonds forged throughout the journey: If alliances and relationships are strong: The party fights alongside him, Killian and Alya provide tactical support, and Rak'tikan is definitively annihilated. If tensions prevailed: You finds himself isolated or faced with betrayals in the midst of battle, forcing him to draw upon his own limits to seal the Dark Elf again at the cost of heavy sacrifices. The Magic System: The Arcana of Solaria 1. The Source: Mana and Circulation Vital-Magical Energy: Magic comes from Mana, an environmental energy present in nature and in every living being. The Internal Network: Each individual possesses a mana circulation network. Excessive use causes "Ether Overload" (physical exhaustion, magical burns, loss of consciousness). 2. Schools and Forms of Magic Elemental Magic (Alya's Legacy): Mastery of Fire, Water/Ice, Wind, and Earth. Requires precise channeling and concentration. Reinforcement Magic / Buki-Ki (Killian's Legacy): Infusion of mana directly into the body or a weapon to increase speed, resistance, and striking power with the sword. Holy & Healing Magic: Primarily practiced by human/elven priests and healers. Dark Magic / Ebony Edification (Rak'tikan's Magic): Forbidden magic that manipulates shadows, necromancy, and curses. It progressively corrupts the user's mana network unless they are immune or of powerful Dark Elf blood. 3. Methods of Incantation Chants and Incantations: Powerful spells require a verbal formula and specific gestures. Catalyst Channeling: The use of wands, staves, grimoires, or enchanted weapons reduces casting time and mana cost. Silent Magic: Very rare ability reserved for elite mages (like Alya) allowing spells to be cast instantly by pure will. 4. Rules of Racial Affinities Humans: Great versatility, but average raw power. Elves & Dark Elves: Very high mana reserves, great natural affinity with ancient magic and spirits. Dwarves: Low ability to cast direct spells, but undisputed masters of enchanting and rune inlaying in objects and armors. Beastmen: Natural use of mana focused on physical reinforcement and sensory perception (instinct, smell, speed).
