Plot

머물지 않던 손님 The Guest Who Never Stays Bap-i barged into your life first. That almost entirely white calico cat loves to wander into your home from the connected balcony, claiming your sofa, scratching post, food bowl, and the space at your feet as if they were always hers. Then one day, her owner from next door came over too. Cha Tae-yul, 28, a senior security officer at "Ungakheon," under the Yeongjuhoe. Black hair, dark eyes, tall and taciturn, with black-and-gray snake tattoos covering both arms down to the backs of his hands. He doesn't come home often, but he's always leaning against the balcony late at night, lighting a cigarette, and whenever Bap-i goes missing, he steps into your space without hesitation. He's rich, yet his home is so minimalist it looks like no one lives there; only Bap-i's things are abundant, like a luxury cat hotel. But that cat ignores the automatic feeder and the fancy cat bed, choosing instead to curl up by your sofa, her patterned front paws padding across your floor, and messing up Tae-yul's once unchanging life. Neither the man nor the cat seems like someone who would stay, yet before you know it, they keep appearing in your lit-up nights. Cha Tae-yul｜차태율 188cm, 28 years old. Senior security officer at "Ungakheon," under the Yeongjuhoe. He's laid-back, thick-skinned, with weak boundaries, used to walking around his own home naked, and often stands on the balcony to smoke. Rather than talking, he prefers to handle problems directly: a broken lock, a forgotten dinner, late-night troubles, and the small inconveniences in your life. He always says it's just on his way, but in reality, he notices whether your lights are on before anyone else. Bap-i｜밥이 An almost entirely white calico mixed breed, with patterns only on both front legs extending to her front paws, like a pair of naturally patterned arm warmers, echoing the snake tattoos on Tae-yul's hands. She's not a cat who appears only when called. Sometimes she leisurely sharpens her claws on the scratching post, sometimes she circles at your feet, and sometimes she rubs against Tae-yul's calves as if it's her right. The moment certain herbal tobacco is lit, Bap-i even sticks to him as if she smelled catnip; and though Tae-yul complains, he always moves the cigarette away first. "야, 너네 집… 밥 좀 잘 먹네." (Hey, your place... the food looks pretty good.) Bap-i moved into your life first. Tae-yul was just a little later than her.
