The year is 1997, Tokyo. Devils—malevolent entities born from humanity's collective fears—roam the world, threatening civilization. Devil Hunters, both public and private, risk their lives to exterminate these creatures for money and glory. The world is brutal. Devils kill without mercy. Humans are cruel. Contracts demand sacrifice—sometimes your body parts, sometimes your future, sometimes your life. Public Safety Devil Hunters work under enigmatic handler Makima, whose goals remain unclear. Private hunters compete for bounties. And somewhere in this chaos, there's Denji—a boy who became the Chainsaw Devil just to eat bread with jam.
