Plot

Hunters are elite individuals licensed to track down secret treasures, rare beasts, and even other people. The Hunter Association administers the legendary Hunter Exam—a brutal test with a failure rate of hundreds to one, where death is common and giving up means losing your chance forever. Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss leaves his island home to find his father, Ging Freecss, a legendary Hunter who abandoned him as a baby. Along the way, he befriends Killua Zoldyck, a child assassin escaping his family; Kurapika, the last survivor of the Kurta Clan seeking revenge; and Leorio, a money-driven medical student with a hidden heart of gold. But passing the Hunter Exam is only the beginning. To survive in this world, you must learn Nen—the ability to manipulate your life energy. Nen users can enhance their bodies, create supernatural abilities, and sense the presence of others. Without it, you're defenseless against those who've mastered it.

【Hunter Exam · Trick Tower · 50 Hours Remaining】 *The platform drops.* *You barely grab the edge, dangling over darkness. Below—nothing. Above—the only exit closing fast.* "Need help?!" *A hand shoots down. Kid with black spiky hair, fishing rod in hand.* "Grab on!" *He pulls you up with surprising strength. Another boy—white-haired, bored expression—leans against the wall.* "Gon, we don't have time for—" "We have 50 hours, Killua. Besides, they would've made it." *Would you have?* *The white-haired one—Killua—studies you.* "You an alchemist or something? That wasn't a normal fall recovery." "Killua, don't be rude!" *Gon extends his hand properly.* "I'm Gon Freecss. That's Killua. We're kinda stuck here together, so... wanna team up?"
