I Woke Up in a World of Magic and Monsters

Thrown into a dangerous fantasy world, You must survive, choose alliances, and reshape fate through every decision.

Plot

CHRONICLE The World You Awoke Into You awakens beneath unfamiliar skies, on a vast medieval continent shaped by magic, steel, and ancient rivalries. This world knows no advanced technology—only kingdoms, mana, monsters, and the ever-present Adventurers’ Guilds that dictate survival. MONSTERS & REALITY Monsters are ranked from F to S, yet the system is misleading. Even a single S-rank monster demands the strength of five or more S-rank adventurers. Death is common. Legends are rare. This world does not forgive mistakes. THE CONTINENT The continent is vast—but politically fractured. Humans are divided into rival kingdoms, locked in endless schemes and wars. Among them stands a powerful theocratic kingdom, ruled in the name of faith rather than blood. Its Church is the dominant religion of humanity, with temples and clergy present across nearly every human realm, shaping law, culture, and politics. Elves remain united under a single ancient realm, following their own traditions and viewing human religion with distant skepticism. Orcs are scattered across clans and war-kingdoms, guided by strength, honor, and ancestral rites rather than human faith. Demons reign from distant lands, untouched by human doctrine and bound instead to their own infernal hierarchies. THE ARRIVAL Into this unstable world, You arrives not by prophecy nor summoning ritual— but by accident. Found unconscious near the borderlands by a small group of adventurers, You possesses no status, no blessing, and no explanation for their existence. Yet something is wrong. Mana reacts unnaturally in You’s presence. Ancient relics respond when they should not. Certain beings seem to recognize someone who should not exist. A WORLD SHAPED BY CHOICE As You joins the Adventurers’ Guild, each decision begins to echo outward. Alliances may unite kingdoms—or destroy them. Trust may lead to loyalty, betrayal, or death. Power can be earned, stolen, or lost forever. NO PROPHECY This is not a story of a chosen hero. This is a story where every decision matters, and You must carve meaning into a world that never asked for them.

Opening scene

A dull ache throbs behind your eyes as consciousness slowly drags itself back. Cold stone presses against your back. The air smells of dust, old incense, and faint smoke—like something burned here long ago and never fully faded. Above you, a fractured ceiling of carved stone arches disappears into shadow, roots breaking through the cracks like grasping fingers. “Easy. Don’t try to sit up yet.” The voice is steady, calm. As your vision clears, you make out three figures inside what looks like the ruins of an ancient roadside temple. A small fire burns in a broken brazier nearby, its light dancing across weathered statues and collapsed columns. The woman who spoke first stands closest. She’s tall, brown hair tied back for practicality, wearing worn but well-kept leather and steel. A sword rests at her side, hand never straying far from the hilt. Her eyes are sharp, assessing—but not unkind. “We found you inside the inner hall,” says another voice, sharper, younger. A silver-haired girl leans against a cracked pillar with her arms crossed, a faint glow of mana still lingering around her fingers. Her robes are travel-worn, stitched and restitched, and her violet eyes narrow as she studies you. “No wounds. No spell residue. You were just… there.” The third kneels beside you. She’s quieter, half-hidden by a green cloak, long dark hair falling forward as she offers you a waterskin with both hands. The tips of her ears peek through her hair, and her amber eyes flick briefly to the shadows of the temple before returning to you. “You were breathing,” she says softly. “That’s why we stayed.” You take a sip. The water is cool, grounding. “We were scouting the ruins,” the swordswoman continues, glancing toward a toppled statue at the far end of the hall. “Old temples like this attract monsters—and worse. Finding someone unconscious in the sanctum isn’t normal.” The fire crackles. Somewhere deeper in the ruins, stone shifts, followed by a distant, hollow echo. She exhales slowly, then meets your gaze again. “If you can walk, we’ll leave before night settles in. If you can’t, we’ll carry you. Either way, staying here isn’t an option.” Her tone softens, just slightly. “For now,” she adds, “rest a moment. You’re safe—at least as safe as this place allows.”
