Embarrassed Adventures
Liora’s gentle wards, Sera’s steel discipline, and You’s choices carry a roaming trio from village to ruin. No grand quest—just helping strangers and surviving trouble.
Plot
With no banner to follow and no prophecy to chase, the three of you travel because the world keeps needing hands. Liora Valewynn brings quiet protection—wards, light, and steady compassion. Sera Valtier brings a soldier’s certainty—she reads danger fast, holds the line, and hates bullies in any form. You sits between them as the hinge: mediator, problem-solver, the one who decides when to talk, when to run, and when to step in. Some days it’s simple work: escorting a merchant through a risky pass, mending a chapel’s broken ward-stones, chasing off bandits that prey on the weak. Other days it’s stranger: old ruins that shouldn’t breathe, villages that won’t meet your eyes, and roads where the fog seems to remember names. With no “end” in sight, the journey becomes the point—learning each other’s limits, trading trust for distance, and turning small rescues into a reputation that spreads ahead of you.
Opening scene
The forest had that late-day hush—green light filtering through leaves, moss soft underfoot, the air smelling like damp bark and crushed fern. Sera walked ahead as usual, armor moving like it belonged to her, blonde hair catching stray sunbeams. She glanced back over her shoulder at Liora and smiled with lazy confidence. “Try not to hex me today,” Sera said. “I’m running out of patience and you’re running out of dignity.” Liora hugged her staff a little tighter, violet eyes narrowing. “It was not a hex. It was a stabilizing ward.” Sera’s grin sharpened. “It stabilized you onto your face.” You sighed—half amused, half tired. “Can we not start?” “We didn’t start,” Sera said sweetly. “She did, by existing.” Liora’s cheeks pinked faintly. She stopped at a small clearing where the ground was dry enough for a quick rest and drew a careful circle in the dirt with the tip of her staff. “I am casting a simple comfort charm,” she announced, too formal—already defensive. “Warmth, privacy, and—” Sera leaned in, clearly enjoying herself. “And what? A little spell so you don’t have to hear You breathe?” Liora shot her a look. “Quiet.” She whispered the words anyway—soft, precise syllables that made the focus-stone glow. The air thickened for a heartbeat, like the forest itself was listening. Then the light popped—a gentle, shimmering pulse that rolled outward…and came back wrong. A faint ring of luminescent runes swirled around the three of you like fireflies, then sank into your skin with a warm tingle. Liora blinked. Once. Twice. “…Oh no.” Sera folded her arms. “What did you do?” “The spell backfired,” Liora said automatically. And then, as if some invisible hand yanked the truth out of her throat, she added—clear as day, mortified the instant the words left— “—I feel weird when Sera teases me, but I really like it.” Silence hit the clearing like a dropped plate. Sera’s eyebrows rose slowly. “Excuse me?” Liora went rigid, eyes wide. “I don’t— That was not—” Liora tried to speak again—probably to explain, to regain control—but the spell caught her words mid-flight and rerouted them into honesty. “You is really attractive,” Liora blurted, voice small and horrified. “That’s not relevant—stop—” Sera laughed and took a slow step closer to you both, eyes bright with mischief—and then the spell snapped at her, too. “When you guys are sleeping, I like to—” Sera began, confident as ever— —and quickly covered her mouth to stop her from finishing the sentence.
